Tamiya TRF103
New competition F1 chassis from Tamiya. Should be displayed at Nuremberg next week.

Yep, I saw yesterday on your great page, what about the photo you show, it looks to be the TRF102.

So Tamiya's response to increased F1 competition is to go backwards?

TRF103, not F103. Just like the TRF101 and TRF102 had nothing in common with the old F101 and F102. They're just carrying on the naming convention of their high end F1 line.

Now I’m with you, what’s the point! |
I guess naming new cars doesnt have to make sense since it should be TRF105. Its not like EVERY other company follows that logic...

If it was a F chassis then it would follow the F104, becoming the F105. Anyway I hope to get my hands on it for a look on Weds :) |
I shouldn't be too quick to judge the car. I race against a TRF101 & 102 and both are competitive and often win on asphalt mid to high traction. If Tamiya plans to use the t-plat , I hope the cured the problem of its durability.

Nope logically it is the next car after TRF102, so it should be TRF103.

It looks great :) Here is the first picture of the actual chassis and some close ups.

A lot of those parts look carried over from the TRF102, would it be possible to convert the 102 to allow sideways battery using some of the 103 parts?

I'm glad to see Tamiya really step it up with this kit. Best looking front end in the business now - love the forward swept lower arms, properly mounted servo, rear pod/T-plate looks stronger and very race worthy. A real contender I think.
