If the battery wont fit without grinding the ears off the cross brace, why do you need a second car instead of a second cross brace?
Also, why does it matter if the front end is heavier if it works better? Xray, Roche, associated, shepard, etc.etc all run a similar setup. The old front end is just not anywhere near as good as the newer cars. |
If they didn’t intend for the transverse mounting of the battery I don’t think they would have designed the brace the way it is, it would have been wider all the way across from the inner tabs to the ends. I am guessing the intent is to leave it alone for inline setup or grind the inner tabs for transverse setup.

Yes it can be easily modified to fit but out of the box the cross brace is is shaped for inline use only.
https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rct...681ead3bba.jpg For many the apeal of a new tamiya f1 is a the ability to have a car that is tcs legal and competative with other manufactures. Modifying the car to make it competative with others results in tcs racers continuing to need 2 cars, 1 for tcs and 1 for everything else. |

Are bearing wheels in the front normal for today's f1 cars or is that a tamiya thing?

I have an F104GP running the 42286 TRF101 front suspension. Considering buying a TRF103. Raced against some TRF102s at the Ohio TCS race and saw a few broken rear pod components on them. Anyone owned the TRF102 and TRF103 who can compare/contrast them?

Umh..... In step 6. The standard BB13 part. If you install as the kit setting, What is the caster on that? Has anyone experimented with mixing those settings?
