TQ from the last weekends ETS set up. |
O rings
I had a good run on asphalt yesterday. The car worked welled with lots of grip under 35 degrees Celsius, UNTIL the O rings at the ball connectors started to disintegrate. Any alternative O rings to use? Prefer not to glue.

o ring issues - are you guys making sure that the o rings are against the top surfaces of both the lower and upper arms? I was having the same issue (rings popping off tightening wheel nuts or leaning on arms) until I realized that I had the upper inserts upside down. the manual has a tiny "flip over" symbol at the upper o ring steps for the upper arm inserts.
Once I corrected the direction, I have not had one o ring come off. HTH |
I have a few weekends with the car now and for me and another local TRF 103 driver, the link setup / transverse battery seems to be the easier and faster setup for low/medium parking lot. The car easily competes with the other brands of F1 chassis.

o rings popping out
I just wanted to share some good news to those with the o rings popping out issue. I changed the o rings for the ball connectors to 5mm diameter ones from another rc brand (for F1), and NO MORE POPPING OUT. I successfully tested one full track day under 36 degrees Celsius!

X ray o-rings?
My kit is on the way. I have some X ray o-rings from the X1 that I'll check to see if they work.

I just ran at the TCS race in Jackson, NJ. The F1 winner at this race had a dominating setup on his TRF103. I got to test drive it and it was the one of the few times I've driven any F1 car that could be driven like a touring car. Well behaved with no need to be careful with the throttle or steering wheel. Congrats to him. There were some bumps and bruises which effected the finishing order in the A main but the finish was: 1) TRF103 2) TRF103 3) TRF102 or 101

Has anyone tried running this kit on black carpet? Any set up advice? Thanks
