TRF102 cars have a thin chassis, maybe 2.5mm,? 2.25??? In any case, it is flexy for sure.

Oddly enough, I liked aluminum on high bite gray carpet. Our old track had IIC carpet from a few years back, and I liked it there.

oh shoot. I think you are referring to Stockton 209. Maybe I shouldn’t switch to aluminum then. Oh well, I will try to make it work.

Most of the winners have been on aluminum at 209, but EJ has won a few with his carbon TOP F1 too.

Yep 209. Won that CTS with an almost box stock setup, stock springs etc, far different than my asphalt setup.
I prefer pit 574/575 there, I tried the sweeps, volante, and 571/572 for that race and 574/575 were faster.

The nice thing about the roche is that one piece servo mount, so when you run the shim than connects the rear of it to the chassis it really stiffens the chassis up, I only run that shim on carpet.

My Buddy Brandon won with the Roche carbon at a CTS race on Black carpet as well

Default Traction roll on black carpet

Need some tips on how to avoid traction roll. I’m running 574/575 tires. I’m gluing the front side walls and a bit of the contact patch. I sauce full front and rear. My car just keeps rolling. I run 9 caster and 2 of camber. I’m not sure if I need to run soft springs or hard springs (tried both=same result) for the front or side.

Any tips?

try adding spacers to the ft or rear to widen the car. I use 1mm tc shims on each rear wheel when I get traction roll and solves the problem. you wont roll but you will loose a small amount of grip. start with .5mm and go from their.

If you don't run full front sauce do you traction roll?

Do you have 571/572 tires? They will take away some of the aggressiveness. Soft front and side springs also. Less front camber 1.5-1.0.

I used to run 574/575 on gray carpet and it was great. Since moving to black carpet, it was a bit too aggressive and I ultimately went back to 571/572 due to higher chance of traction roll.

Sometimes I'll still have too much front traction just cleaning off the front tires with tire cleaner on 571. What I found is sometimes I don't even clean the front tires fully or just lightly sauce 1/4th of the front tire and it gives me still plenty of steering while not traction rolling.

Sauce has a big effect on traction roll. I never sauce full fronts.

Are you running at TQ? We are using 74/75 as well. How much of the contact patch have you glued? May not have been enough. We are at 4mm and some others are at 5mm. That way we can still full sauce the tires to keep the carpet grime off.

I do run at tq, my name is Carlos...I’ve applied about 2mm of glue to the front. I’ll apply some more glue...how about oils? Or ride height? I run 4.2 in the front and 4.6 in the rear.

My my car is a Roche, so the front is wider than the rear.

I have tried 71/75, but I can’t keep up with the fast guys (although traction or going to two wheels slows me down more). I’ll try these tips...

Yeah, more glue up front is a must on black carpet. I would lower the ride height in the rear a bit more too.

Yep. Camber. I can’t run more than 1 degree on black carpet.
