Anyone running standard sct tires on the DB8? If so how do you like it?

Mine ran great. I use narrower hex adapters for smaller diameter tires.

Gotcha! I'm in the works of converting my SCT RC8.2e into a Nomad DB8.

Thanks for the reply.

N/P. It drives very similar to sc8 with short course tires and narrow hexes, with the exception of not having sway bars.

Sweet! I have a slightly different experience with my SC8.2E as. I built it with spare parts and am running an XMAXX motor and ESC on 8s. It runs heavy. My RC8.2E has sway bars. Do you recommend them for the DB8?

I like the sway bars. I run 8s 4092. It's pretty heavy, but I'm guessing mine is a fair amount lighter than your sc8.

I would agree.

Just got some of the parts in today. Will start this project soon.

I’m also contemplating this conversion on one of my sc8.2e’s. My hopes are the DB8 provides a little more ground clearance & keeps the dirt, grass and grime out the chassis better than the short course body/roll cage

Default Sway bar

[QUOTE=Dave_S;15026870]Played around with sway bars. With no front bar and the biggest rear bar the buggy drives fantastic on almost all terrain with my suspension settings. (Within reason, this ain't no crawler)

Do you have any pictures of the installed sway bars? I’m thinking about installing them on mine, but I haven’t seen any info on how to install them, so any pictures you might have would help. Also if you know any good links to any othe DB8 hop ups I would be interested. Have you upgraded the motor or ESC? Thanks

So is there a ton of parts involved with converting a RC8.2e into a DB8? I see a truggy chassis for starters. Anybody got some parts lists?

If you got time I'll make a list. Biggest thing is cage, tires, body, truggy chassis and driveshaft, center diff riser if buggy doesn't have that, front and rear bumpers.

I'm sure there's more, that's just off the top of my head.

If the DB8 layout will bash over rough terrain way better than the buggy (back end hitting every little root and bump) then I would like to do it. I would get something else to race at the track. Will it traverse rough terrain better?

I'm going through both manuals today and comparing parts. If I get finished, I'll have a good list. But the separate prices may persuade me not to do this. Dunno.

It does good but tires are taller, so that helps.

Good grief. I'm at over $300 just for FT chassis, chassis braces, cage, body, tires, driver figure, and bumpers, body mounts, & hexes. Not counting all the different length screws needed. Better off finding a roller deal somebody needs to get rid of. Or turn this thing into something else.
