So three gear diffs and a aluminum chassis make it a copy of Xray?
So i guess xray must have copied durango since they
have been doing it long before xray. Or how about the yokomo Bmax series?
So i guess that makes the XB2 a copy of evey other 2wd on the market?

sure... if that's how you want to put it.
I actually race both the B6 and XB2 . I like driving both buggies.

I doubt that. I actually use AE rims in my Xray because it's cheaper... and I like the idea of just buying one type of wheel for both buggies.

The 44.3 is aluminum, shafted and 3 gear diffs... maybe it's the new car!

At my local club here in the UK they hardly run 4wd at all and I think that's pretty common in general here 2wd is dominant. We don't even run stock it's mod only!

I will give 4wd a try if AE release a new one I don't want to spend all that money on a 44.3 for a new one to arrive a few weeks later.

No it won't.

It's not even slated to be at the Reedy race in January.

Scratch a new Wheeler off your Christmas list folks

The xray references come from the concept that that's the buggy AE has been looking at mostly as much as any feature similarities. I hear it a lot locally but have not heard it first hand from anyone from AE.

It's just percolating here, finally.

"Think Xray but with a narrower chassis."

And yes, you're right, the AE b5 series was a very close copy of the bmax 2wd series. AE just made a much better handling car - especially for clay.

That's an astute observation. You must drive a lot of cars.

Most people think that AE magically went from the b4 to a very tidy mid motor layout because they've never seen the yoke 2wd kits.

I don't think anyone will criticize AE too deeply for once again looking at what was good and probably improving upon it in some ways.

I think its funny how whenever someone says -the new car looks like a copy of car B- and everyone auyomatically thinks thats a negative statment. Of course they all look similar. These cars are evolving in yhe samr direction. They will look similar. Ive yet to drive two different cars that -look similar- and not feel real differences in the way the car handles. Its all good! Doesent mean a thing. I thonk its awesome that we have all yhese new cars to be excited about. So lets just roll with it.

WHAT? just a week or so you seemed confident that the car would be at the race this week and that the top AE drivers had them for "longer" than one would think. What changed? I know you don't like talking sources but how solid is your info no car at January Reedy race?

I dont have any issue with someone saying it "looks" like an Xray or even thats its alot "like" an
Xray or Bmax4. But saying "copy" insinuates that AE lacks the enginering talent to produce
there own car. If it was just a "copy" Kody could just take one out of the box and duplicate all
the geometry. Considering how much work there puttting into this car its a long way away
from that. Besides there where other companys doing a 3 gear diff, narrow aluminum chassis
wheeler before Xray, theres just happens to be the most popular one right now.

The B5 was as much an outgrowth of the Centro as Bmax. The centro really showed them
they needed a whole new platform. It was also when AE finally said screw it where making 2
kits because there is just to many comprimises with a MM and RM car on the same platform.

Now that people accept that logic it became far easier for AE to build a high and low grip MM
platform.

I was confident that we would see a new car this weekend, right up until last Saturday when I heard a Trackside AE driver was rebuilding his 44.3 for the AE race...If that driver wasn't going to have a car for an AE sponsored race at his home track...then there was no new car.

I believe they have had 'A' car for awhile, like since the Nats. What happened with that car, no idea..seems they scrapped it. Why? pfft who knows

No car for the Reedy race. That seemed to be the scuttlebutt last weekend amongst the AE guys I know.
