Any Word on a New AE 4WD buggy?
I have been awaiting Associated to release a new 1/10th scale 4WD Buggy.
Would just get a B44.3 if it were a metric kit. The 4WD is still in the B4 series - Maybe the demand is just not there. There was a thread from November 2015 here - that was 9 months ago! Any Inside Word? thank you! |
Call AE, their customer service is stellar.
Or read this great article on product life cycles: https://hbr.org/1965/11/exploit-the-product-life-cycle |
Yes, it's coming.
Good enough? |
Um, it's coming. My best friend's sister's boyfriend's brother's girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who's going with the girl who saw it sitting on a table at 31 Flavors last night. I guess we'll see at Nationals.

Good one - That sounds about right about the car going to a Major Event / Nationals then released. I am going to call Associated today.
thanks. |
I called AE. They said they will continue to make new RC cars. ...so they can sell them. ...and they will be various models. ...for various classes. ...and release dates will vary.

AE isn't going to tell you anything...but nationals are only a few weeks away. I would hold off on getting anything.

A new model will be out consistently, it's inevitable and perpetual in the world of tech. |

What a odd answer from AE.
Read that link I posted. It talks all about product releases and why. |
for pros, 2wd mod buggy is the premier class. it's THE SHOW. around the country at 1/10 scale tracks, 17.5 buggy is by far the most popular class. wheeler has almost died many times in my area and i know that is not unique to my area. so if a company develops 2wd to 4wd kits at a rate of 2 or 3 to 1, i say that's a smart business decision. if wheeler is your favorite class and you're that guy on your local forum always posting "c'mon guys bring those wheelers out!", then yeah, it sucks for you.

I've been keeping my B44.2 going in hopes of a new AE wheeler. I've been hoping we see a new one soon but if we haven't heard anything after nationals I think I'll be looking elsewhere.
