These are what I've gone off for roll center.

This video is good for the rear motor cars, which IIRC are backwards to the mid motor cars because of where the weight is based on it's relationship to the rear axle.
Again, correct me if I'm wrong.

.
The physics/geometry for roll centers are not affected by the location of the motor.

Finally got my 3.0 built, hoping to get down to the local track this Friday for some practice laps and Saturday for its first race. Thanks to all for the setup tips! Will be the first buggy I've ran in years.

Any issue with polishing the Losi coated shock shafts? Any reason too? They seem pretty smooth and clean on their own. I was wondering if they will get better with polishing.
#2870
Not likely. It'd be difficult to find something hard enough to polish the surface to any finer a smoothness without removing the coating. They're really smooth, best to leave them and get a nice long life out of them.

I am not sure if the geometry will work at all with the Exotek, since their tranny geometry is different (although I don't know how). If might really mess up your bone plunge and cause the car to handle poorly.

I emailed exotek this question.
The response I received said their drivers have only tested with standard hubs (+3 hubs were not available during testing.) He said they found the standard hubs are/were perfectly fine and fast, but didn't see any issues with the +3 hubs. He said they might be a good option to try if you are trying to get higher roll center to free up the buggy mid corner.
I asked about the bone plunge, but no specific answers were given.
The feedback from both seems overwhelmingly positive, so I don't think there's a wrong choice.
FWIW,
I have the exotek & +3mm hubs coming in the mail, so we'll see what happens.

Prices of the laydown went up, and it's out of stock everywhere. Wonder if theres a molded version or other way to get this for cheaper.
#2878
I guess for now I'll stick with the stock kit plus the HRC pivots for carpet. It's not like it's the car holding me back at this point.

I have read in here people are using a Serpent SRX2 gear diff. Is this better than the MIP Super Ball Diff Upgrade? I will be on high traction indoor carpet with jumps if it matters. Also is it a direct fit swap other than shimming?
Thanks!
Thanks!
