Welcome to the SCT410.3 Wiki!

7.26.17 - BB
In order to run the recommended team setup, you need the following optional parts:
TKR6106 Orange LF Springs
TKR6114 Green LF Springs
TKR6018 composite shock caps (built to emulsion) OR TKR8702 Aluminum Emulsion Shock caps
TKR8027 Shock Stand Offs
TKR6051 8x1.3 pistons(drilled to 1.4mm)
TKR8104 .4 bellcranks
TKR8100 .4 ackerman
TKR5545B HRC Hubs
You also need the Aluminum C Block (others can stay composite)

What option parts should I consider buying with a new kit?
None are required but we recommend the following:

TKR5161 – V2 Adjustable Hinge Pin Brace “A” block, 7075 CNC, EB/NB/ET/NT/SCT) - Helps to improve durability on hard crashes.

TKR5163 – V2 Adjustable Hinge Pin Brace “C” block, 7075 CNC, EB/NB/ET/NT/SCT) - Helps to improve durability on hard crashes.

TKR5545B – HRC Rear Hubs (L/R, CV or uni, SCT.3/SL) - Improves stability of the rear on mid to corner exit. Allows harder acceleration on corner exit.

TKR6146 - CNC Delrin Shock Cartridge Set

TiNi Shock Shafts
-TKR6004T (front)
-TKR6017T (rear)

What spare parts should I keep on hand?
TKR5020 – Hinge Pins (inner, front/rear)
TKR5516 – Front Suspension Arms and TKR5515 – Rear Suspension Arms
TKR5542 – Spindle Carriers - TKR5541B Spindles
TKR6009 – Shock O-Ring and Bladder Set (for 2 shocks)

Tips and Tricks

List of Vehicle Setup Adjustments and Build Tips can be found here. There are several videos and articles detailing the building of shocks, diffs, camber links, etc.

Use steering stops/limiter washers... more info here.

Setup Sheets:
Setup sheets for all Tekno RC vehicles can be found here. Please be sure to try our recommended setup. It works very well on most tracks.

Hinge Pin Insert Chart:

Warranty Policy:
Tekno RC is the only company in the industry that will give 50% off of parts if returned to them using the General Warranty return policy found on their website. The parts can be lightly used or completely abused, as long as the part is still being produced it's covered!

Piston Drills:
Some of our setups recommend using pistons that are enlarged. For instance 4x1.9 or 3x2.0. To drill the pistons we recommend the following:
GMK Supply Piston Drill Set
16PC Metric Bit Set Metric Sizes 2.00 to 3.00 MM.

I completely disagree with the Tekin being better than the hobbywing 4700. I eat those motors on a regular with my HW, so to each their own.

I've never tried hobbywing, was thinking about trying that it castle fit my eb48.3, but I moved my rx8 and bought a Tekin 1900 for it.. so now I have a Tekin 4300 and need to buy a new esc for my sct410.3. probably just go with Tekin for that, since I doubt a good hobbywing esc is much cheaper. And I already have hotwire.

Finished building my 410.3 last week and just wanted to thank all the guys that have posted usefull info on here - I read the whole thread and pasted a lot of stuff into the notes on my phone as I read through. Ended up basing my setup on Randy C's from the Tekno website, except I haven't bought any extras yet so used kit springs and pistons with Associated 30wt oil f/r.
I'm running an RX8 and Schuurspeed 4 pole 4800Kv (haven't heard of anyone running this motor)
With testing on the weekend I started with 14t pinion then went to 15t and was coming off about 48degC.
Had 4 washers on steering stops but went down to 2 and those were the only changes I made.
Our track mostly runs 1/8 gas, its loose dusty outdoor with some nasty cut up jump faces and tight turns. I have to say I was a bit unsure of how the Tekno would handle this track after reading the talk of nose dive.
Once I got it on the track though i was very happy with it's performance right out of the gate. It's very stable and easy to drive and I was laying down some good consistent laps - so I just drove it and didn't change anything other than the things mentioned above. Can't wait to get back on the track and try experimenting with setup to see if I can get it even better, will grab some springs to try and maybe a couple alloy parts

Trying to add a pic but it's not happening for me hah

Once you get some new springs that should help a lot, the stock rear springs are way too soft. It is an awesome truck out of the box though!! I love mine, and can't wait for my EB48.3 to get here in 2 days. Curious, what battery are you running? And are you using capacitor packs?

for a motor that is not too aggressive, basically "just right", the Hobbywing 3656SD 4000Kv motor can be a great warhorse motor.

Yea for sure, I want to try green springs in the back and also pink front and rear.
EB48.3 would be awsome!Tekno certainly have some good innovation in their kits. I like the sway bar setup a lot compared to my other cars.
My batteries are Gens ace 5000mah 65C
I get 7 mins out of them no problem but any longer races and I will get some 7000's
I've been running the Tekin for a year without a cap pack and haven't felt I need one. Do you think it would extend the life of my esc?

I run GensAce 70c 5000, 6000, and 7200 and don't have any issue's (with cap pack). When I had lower C batteries they were melting the inboard posts and I had high temps with the cap pack, so I know that personally it's helped my setup. For $7 I don't see a reason to not have one, I was told to get that as an early upgrade for SCT cause of the strain of 2s powering all that weight. What were you running the Tekin in before?

I was running it in an scte 1.0
Thanks for the advice I will put a cap pack in my next order of parts - like you say it's only a few dollars and if it lowers the strain on my system then that's great. My motor is a 540 so there's plenty of room between it and the esc to put one in there

I was also running it in my SCTE 1.0, hah. That's where I had the problems, and I just kept the cap pack on when i switched to Tekno.

I've run my best laps with the HW 3656SD 3400kv geared tall. Its plenty fast, better on batteries, and is much more manageable. Our track is 115 x 75 and the 4000 seems like too much. We use to use the Tekin 4300s but the HW speedos and motors seem to be more reliable and are half the price....less than half for as good or better performance.

here its a common motor on a very tight track indoors and large track outdoors. However that isn't to say the 3400kv couldn't be a better option. I think we need to get out of the mindset that only one motor and thats that.

As it sits now I use a Maclan 4150kv and have been enjoying the motor and its powerband. works well for the $99.

Are people running 3s setups in their scts?

Whats the better route to go here, 2s or 3s setup?

4wd sct class rules are 2s.....bashers can run whatever they want.
