Welcome to the SCT410.3 Wiki!

7.26.17 - BB
In order to run the recommended team setup, you need the following optional parts:
TKR6106 Orange LF Springs
TKR6114 Green LF Springs
TKR6018 composite shock caps (built to emulsion) OR TKR8702 Aluminum Emulsion Shock caps
TKR8027 Shock Stand Offs
TKR6051 8x1.3 pistons(drilled to 1.4mm)
TKR8104 .4 bellcranks
TKR8100 .4 ackerman
TKR5545B HRC Hubs
You also need the Aluminum C Block (others can stay composite)

What option parts should I consider buying with a new kit?
None are required but we recommend the following:

TKR5161 – V2 Adjustable Hinge Pin Brace “A” block, 7075 CNC, EB/NB/ET/NT/SCT) - Helps to improve durability on hard crashes.

TKR5163 – V2 Adjustable Hinge Pin Brace “C” block, 7075 CNC, EB/NB/ET/NT/SCT) - Helps to improve durability on hard crashes.

TKR5545B – HRC Rear Hubs (L/R, CV or uni, SCT.3/SL) - Improves stability of the rear on mid to corner exit. Allows harder acceleration on corner exit.

TKR6146 - CNC Delrin Shock Cartridge Set

TiNi Shock Shafts
-TKR6004T (front)
-TKR6017T (rear)

What spare parts should I keep on hand?
TKR5020 – Hinge Pins (inner, front/rear)
TKR5516 – Front Suspension Arms and TKR5515 – Rear Suspension Arms
TKR5542 – Spindle Carriers - TKR5541B Spindles
TKR6009 – Shock O-Ring and Bladder Set (for 2 shocks)

Tips and Tricks

List of Vehicle Setup Adjustments and Build Tips can be found here. There are several videos and articles detailing the building of shocks, diffs, camber links, etc.

Use steering stops/limiter washers... more info here.

Setup Sheets:
Setup sheets for all Tekno RC vehicles can be found here. Please be sure to try our recommended setup. It works very well on most tracks.

Hinge Pin Insert Chart:

Warranty Policy:
Tekno RC is the only company in the industry that will give 50% off of parts if returned to them using the General Warranty return policy found on their website. The parts can be lightly used or completely abused, as long as the part is still being produced it's covered!

Piston Drills:
Some of our setups recommend using pistons that are enlarged. For instance 4x1.9 or 3x2.0. To drill the pistons we recommend the following:
GMK Supply Piston Drill Set
16PC Metric Bit Set Metric Sizes 2.00 to 3.00 MM.

Looking for spring recommendations for my SCT 410.3. Outdoor loamy dirt 1/8 scale track. The course will be set up as shown below. I am running an xr8 sct and a 5300kv motor if that helps weight wise. The previous guy who had it had this thing set up with Orange LF springs front and rear with 65wt oil in the front and 45wt oil in the rear, but he was racing indoor blue groove clay.

I tend to use losi oil and have always really liked their 35wt (420cst) for front and rear shocks on older eb48sl, but that was when the track was set up for bigger jumps and I also was running stiffer springs. This track is a bit more technical than in my past. Assume that I am using stock pistons.

Stock front kit springs
Red buggy rear springs

Oil is totally track and climate dependent, just see what other buggy drivers are running and go with that.

The SCT410.3 is discontinued on Amain. Will there be a new version coming out later this year? SCT410.4 or SCT410 2.0?

Well, they already have a new 4WD SCT model: Tekno SCT410SL - and I have some doubt whether they will keep producing two different kits for one class... They might, but I wouldn't bet the ranch on it.

Spoke to someone at Tekno as I was trying to Track down a few kits for local drivers.
They told me the SCT410SL isn't a replacement for the SCT410.3, it's design lends itself to Indoor Clay Tracks and such and not as durable (Hell I have a Prostar SCT2410T which is a converted 410.2ET, a side by side manual comparison...I buy literally 5 parts and I have a SCT410SL, they share I would say 85% of their parts).
The 410.3 is for large outdoor Tracks and thus built more durable. The 410.3 is discontinued but a Replacement is on it's way, but no ETA at this time, he wouldn't go into more details, just...soon.
I suspect it is a slightly converted EB48 2.1...maybe different Hubs so a 12mm SCT wheel will mount up, and a few other bits...I had a EB48 2.0, it was a good Chassis, just a Little more Fiddly when compared to the old EB48.2 to EB48.4 and 48SL and SCT410.3.

Tekno has a good business model, build Chassis that share a lot of parts, keeps R&D costs low, manufacturing costs low, and for a Driver, ease of maintenance and parts supply...Just wish they would Expand and make a 2wd Buggy and 2wd SCT

Does anyone know if Tekno will continue to supply parts for the 410.3 moving forward?

We always support our vehicles as long as there is enough interest. There are a ton of 410.3's out there, so I see us offering support for at least a few more years.

If Tekno made a dedicated 2wd SCT I would definitely be on board with that.

I'm converting mine over to bashing duty with 8th scale electronics. What drive line parts should I worry about?

Pins and barrels in the CV joints are the only thing we've seen wear out faster with high power systems. Everything else holds up really well.

What size motor are we talking about? I'm 99% sure if you do want to put a "true" 1/8 scale sized motor in, you'll need motor mount insert part #TKR5211X for a larger can to clear the chassis and get complete adjustability. The stock SCT410.3 motor mount insert is the LCG type for 36mm diameter motors.

I just picked up the SCT410.3 and looking for setup tips. We run on an asphalt parking lot with plywood jumps. Layout changes every week, some really tight, some ovals with jumps or even speed paperclip layout with jumps. My son and I run SCTE's and have won the championships the last few years (Mine SCTE with MIP conversion and his is the SCTE 3.0) they work great but I wanted to try Tekno this year (had issues with getting parts between race dates.) The tires that work the best on the surface are the Duratrax Shootouts or the Proline Badlands, I've tried Bandito Speed Treads and they are too loose. Any of the soft compound dirt tires work but wear to bald in only a few races. The Shootouts and Badlands last the entire season.

I've looked around and the setups I've found are all dirt or clay. I was thinking maybe a smooth clay hardpack setup might be close enough. But if anyone knows of a more accurate setup that would be great. I have no idea what setup was on it but they guy I bought it from ran on a red clay outdoor track so might not need much tweaking.

Default Hazard +3 Wheels

Got some JConcepts Hazards +3 wheels the other day, and it's a go... the wheel rubbing is gone. I didn't even have full steering throw in the left picture. Keep in mind this rubbing is at full droop. Sure, the "0" offset wheels might be okay in most situations, but I know I'll be asking the SCT410.3 for everything she's got (full droop) in order to tackle the rough terrain outback here in central PA.

Thank you for posting. Based on the following post from the Tekno forum, what is the inner hinge pin spacing between the front arms of the SCT410.3 and the new SCT410 2.0?
