Welcome to the world of Schumachers, hope you enjoy! I've never seen your track but from my experience please see my answers below.
Couple of questions.
1) What diff fluid should I use? I have some 2K I used in my B5M. Is the ball diff better than the gear diff on carpet? (RCplus guys?)
Gear diff wil be quicker, ball diff may beeasier to drive. The Schumacher gear diff seems to like thicker oil than others to give the same effect. I would start with 10k and go from there.
2) Maybe a stupid question, but do you locktite the screws that go into alloy?
Yes! I use Loctite 248, it comes in handy Pritt Stick style applicators and is very easy to control how much you use.
3) I picked up the CF chassis and was wondering what chassis protector you guys are using.
Not sure in the US, think the Discount RC Store sells some that you have to cut out yourself, we in the UK tend to use a guy that sells on oOple or the RCS Chassis Protectors that are pre cut.
4) Shock oils? (Again RCplus guys) 37.5 in the front and 32.5 in the rear?
Sounds like good starting point. May want to get the vented shock caps and run the shocks in emulsion, depends if you have big jumps or not.
5) Are the springs that come with it good to use or should I get a different set?
The kit comes with Core RC springs which are what a lot of people use, also hear that Avid springs are used in the US.
The MIP pucks system for the KF will also work in the KF2, hey use the same diff and driveshafts.
I have been out of the hobby for awhile, built a B5M, and now I am hooked again!
Thanks!!

Does the KF2 come with the shorty conversion kit?
Or do I need to buy this: http://www.discountrcstore.com/product_p/u4706.htm to run a shorty lipo?

The shorty conversion assumes you're still running the fwd motor position with shorty pack.
These 2 will be using different belts. Please be aware.

Actually to be more precise, KF2 will come with the low grip conversion:

So I will need the shorter belt?
What belt comes with the kit? And which is needed for the shorty?
Thanks!!

KF2 comes with parts to run standard motor position and the more rear position motor or "low grip". To run the low grip you have to run a shorty battery. The only thing the kit does not include are the parts to run a shorty in the standard/forward/"high grip" position.
Thanks!!

I am thinking about dithcing my losi 22 2.0 mid motor car for one of these, i like the layout of the car and it seems like schumacher is a very high quality car. I really only have one question, is this a good indoor medium to high grip clay mod buggy? Or is this a straight carpet and astroturf buggy.

I have highlighted in the attachment the difference between KF and KF2 including what is added as optional parts for the KF/KF2. I have not included all screws for the new chassis.
Note: Not sure if the washer U1548 in the shock assembly should be installed or not (not showed in the manual).
