SCORE SCORE SCORE!! since purchasing this car i jsut couldnt figure out why the shock would bind near the top. I have gone back and forth with other via PM and email trying to figure it out. So today i was making and installing pistons and just could not figure out what was going on i even made the pistons undersize and it still does it. It finally dawned on me that it is the cartridge cap hole it seems to be molded slightly off center and too tight so i loosened up the cap just to see if that would help and it did. I took a 9/64 drill (3.5mm) drilled out the cap (previous size is .125 which is the same size as the shaft). this freed it up so much in the front that with no other changes my ride height went up 3mm!!

Your car is going to handle much better now. You may have to re-adjust your dampening a bit.

I do the same thing. . We changed pistons, shock bodies, lower caps, etc... Its money with a larger hole in the lower cap.

I know this question has been asked a lot but how do you read the ecentric pills on the setup sheet. The x's are on the outside of the front and rear toe blocks. Is this narrow pivot or wide pivot?

When the X's are checked on outside..means wide pivot.

Here is my results and set up from this past weekend. This track is very unique because its outdoors but its also covered. The layout is tight with a lot of sharp 180's so maintaining corner speed is key. Traction is medium bite with a couple sections that were a little dusty from the track breaking apart but relatively smooth. The car performed great all day. I was able to push it but still feel in control of it because its so predictable. Just a blast to drive.

Is the aluminum idler gear a must to install right away? Have all the plastic gears stripped in the gear boxes. I ordered mine and have it but was wondering if its happened to everyone or just a few.

Anybody try the gear diff in mod yet? If so, what is a good weight oil to start with?

We run mainly on high bite clay and usually start the day on slicks since the track is so tacky. Idler gears stripped once since he started racing the car when it was first released. None of the other gears were damaged, just had to clean the teeth out. I wouldn't install aluminum unless you're running carpet/astro/sugar. Just keep a few of them on hand, or in a pinch the Losi 22 idler is direct fit.
