New shots of the Mid Motor buggy from Serpent.

The MM version follows the rear motor RM version that is available for some time now and the kit targets drivers who race on high-grip carpet and astro turf surfaces. The buggy builds on what appears to be a composite material chassis, it sports the standard SRX2 front suspension but a dedicated rear end with 4-gear transmission and a revised rear bulkhead and shock tower. By the look of things the buggy accepts both saddle and shorty type battery packs and it comes with a cab forward body shell. Looks like the front end is the same. If it is at all like the SRX-2, the out of the box set up should be pretty good. Will update this page with set up info, option parts and info as it becomes available. Petit RC set up sheets (will put up Mid Motor ones as soon as they are posted) http://www.petitrc.com/setup/serpent...rpentSRX2.html Build tips Make sure to use a dab of blue loctite on the nuts on the shock shafts that hold the pistons on the shock shaft. Many people are installing Carbide or Ceramic diff balls right off the start. Make sure to use loctite on the front screws that go into the aluminum posts in the steering assembly. That car is just as amazing as the SRX-2, Billy was discussing with us why he decided to go with a dedicated MM. It is astonishing how much knowledge he has, and effort and thought he has put into these cars.

Seth, yea and he is always tinkering. TQ by a lap, go out for practice for 3 laps change shock setup and out for another 3 laps. Perfectionist to a "T" and it shows it in these cars.

Is it an optical illusion, or do the rear arms appear to be different as well? Can't wait to give this one a go!

As some of you know I do the mini websites for Serpent, I am currently working on the MM website and although I cannot leak any info I will try to get some little bits as and when I can for you guys.
I will say this I am not disappointed with what I have seen so far  |

A lot of people have started running Centro's at my track. I'd like to see how this platform compares!

This may be one of the compromises that billy mentioned as to why they are doing dedicated RM and MM cars.
