Default stock setup

I built my kit in the stock configuration. My kit went together pretty easily. I had to file one piston down to smooth it out. The only change I have made is I went to the red springs in the rear. I am running a 10.5 in mod and car is on pace with the fast guys. I havent run 2wd in a couple of years
But I am having a ball. Keep up the good work Serpent!

No, they fit the shock body, but the shaft is a different size. At the moment you can use Serpent pistons or Rocket RC pistons.

Yes, the area where the piston mounts is a smaller diameter than other pistons. Only stock, serpent conical and rocket rc pistons fit that I'm aware of.

1.1, you have to drill them to size.

Anyone know of another way to contact Rocket -Rc for pistons…. their "contact us" box returns a failure notice to my email. Also, who are you guys using to do the aluminum bulkhead mod….drill and tap the holes to keep the inserts from shaking.
Thanks

Default 1st run 1st race

Just wanted to do a quick report on my spyder mid! Ran my 1st race this weekend Off-road Kings at delta rc....... 1st run ever on the car was a qual and my 1st time on the layout! So I wasn't expecting much Oh boy was I wrong........I came from a B5 so I do have a good car to compare this to, stock setup is spot on (good job billy) only hopup on my car is the lightweight top shaft (17.5) 1st qual was just hoping the car worked n trying to learn the layout (making a few mistakes) n I noticed when it was over I was only 2sec from finishing on the same lap with everybody else!!! Running 17.5 Car has crazy rear grip but with no loss of steering! It's crazy man my b5 just didn't have that! Round 2 now I know the layout still only my 2nd run ever on the car n I go out and post the 2nd fastest time of the event in expert 17.5 12lap 5:07 Tq was 12lap 5:05 And I believe the guy that did it is fresh off the jconcepts indoor nats win (sportsman) Mind you these were guys that were a 1/2 to 3/4 of a lap faster than me with my previous ride! Honestly I'm going to keep it 100. I don't think there was a B5 there that had anything for me.......I raised so many eyebrows. I finished the triple A's with a 2 and a 3 got taken out while in the 2 running down the leader......everyone agreed I would have caught him for the win.....but that's racing. No shoulda woulda couldas!! Just saying you might catch shit from your buddies for running a spyder! Cause people are just like that.....they only want to run what everybody else is running scared to be a lone wolf! I'm telling you this car is superior to B5 in everyway quality (not even close) handling B5 is good but serp jumps lands settles much better steering hands down serp durability I never broke my b5 so can't say. My serp came home from a sugar track still looking new........I can't say enough I'm really happy with the switch.........good job on the car!

Default kit ordered

Just ordered a Serpent Spyder 2 MM buggy. Any tips for the kit build? Do I have to upgrade the diff balls right away or the stock ones are ok?

Thanks
