I think it's smoother than any shaft driven 4wd I've tried, including the XB4. This is a thread for the original 22-4 though, so they are OEM ball diffs. It takes quite alot to remove the diffs. Not nearly as easy access as some of the other wheelers but I believe the driving quality is worth it.

Anyone try the new rear/side belt covers on the 1.0? It would make life easier for maintenance. Not sure if they are specific for gear diffs however.

On a side note, I also reduce the size of my cutting disk to about 10mm in diamter so that the disk doesn't cut in to either the plastic or chassis I'm working around. To reduce the diameter of the cutting disk I use my bench grinder's stone wheel and turn the dremel on the gently run the disk against the rotating stone wheel. It will eat away the disk in an even fashion

So am I asking the question incorrectly? I admit I'm not really a regular here but thought this would be the place to find the answer. I have read a ton here and really appreciate all the info and knowledge shared here, but I can't find the answer. Just want to do it the right way this time.

I'm a little late to the party but I just picked one up for 180 shipped from Horizon! Hopefully I can't go wrong at that price!
