Im redoing it as well..
I hated it as well and about to send all the orange bits to Carolina Custom Anodizing...getting them done gunmetal grey. Talked to Jason...good guy..will take a few weeks and cost 60-80 bucks. All the stock orange parts plus some extra ball stud/A-arm spacers.
Sent the chassis to Thunder designs for a custom chassis protector for both the top and bottom grafx...
will post pic's when it's all done...

Not sure about this particular setup. But even for the other setups, you will need extra washers. You can kind of move things around from the standard build, but it takes planning. Easier to just buy the two different size washers that HPI has or some other brand if you don't like orange.

LMAO. So there I was building my D413, and miss read the RF hinge pin mount spacing. I read 5mm not .5mm Once I dug around my box and found 5mm worth of spacers for each side and got it together I was looking at it and thinking something is up.
Whats available for clamped hexes to fit the D413. I can't stand these things.
I can see me loosing a freakin pin or hex between rounds as I'm cleaning tires.

A bit pissed off about the parts situation both Amain and Tower don't have the front shock tower mount. Also has anyone tried using the Assosciated shock pistons and/or shafts. Main reason I ask is so that it is easier to get the pre drilled 2 x 1.6/1.7 pistons. Living in Australia it is a pain to get spares and options.

Ive been using the clamping hexes from the Losi 22 since I built mine. Like you I didnt care for the chance of loosing a pin. I had them already so I just tried them and they worked perfect. Direct fit, no mods needed. Its nice because they have +.75 and +1.5mm hexes available too if you want to mess with the track width for tuning. I haven't tried those yet. Just been running the STD width to this point.
