Default Serpent shock caps on a D413

Okay, so to add to my confusion in this situation..I pulled the shocks form my srx2,
and tried the shock caps from it just to eliminate the possibilities,
and what do you know?

Turns out only 1 cap from my Srx2 went on without
issue like the pic shows, the rest were a little more work..?

Well, I got the Serpent caps to fit, but it wasnt a direct fit.
Its either the HB shocks, or the Serpent caps but mine basically had to be "mated"
to each other. They go on/off easily now, but it was more time consuming
than just buying the parts and swapping caps..

Onto the astro, my friend ran at Yatabe on the weekend and struggled with his setup on the astro,he believed the centre diff was the cause.

Cheese.
IFMAR Rules

5.1 SURFACE
Pack able rock free dirt - preferably sifted top soil/clay compound with minimum amounts of sand. Surface should be able to be easily broken and repaired to ensure a consistent and wide racing line. Such conditions have shown to yield excellent racing due to width and consistency of the racing line. Additionally qualifying is fairer as the ability to maintain a consistent surface gives all competitors an equal track that can be enjoyed by those in heats before as well as after his own.
5.2 LAYOUT
The track design should employ the following basic components that are found on real off-road circuits from which 1:10 scale racing has been modeled after.
a: Main straight should be between 80ft to 100ft.
b: Jumps should be liberally used throughout the circuit. These jumps should include single, double as well as triple jump sections.
c: Bumps, either a series of “stutter bumps” or moguls should be employed to enhance the overall personality and challenge of the circuit.
d: Additional aspects such as drop-offs, elevation changes, berms etc. may also be utilized to further enhance the personality of the circuit.
e: Lane width to be minimum of 3 meters.

I know this topic has been talked about but are the AE 12mm V2 shock caps working well as stated on the first page?

Also do you need to purchase the standoffs to mount properly?

Thanks!

Make sure you get composite standoffs, the Alums don't work. Also with the AE caps it's about 1mm shorter so make sure to adjust your shock eyelet for droop

Since getting my D413 in May I've driven at an indoor clay track and 2 outdoor dirt tracks many times... then 3 practice days on indoor offroad carpet. So far I had bent a front shock shaft and and popped a front shock off once when I let somebody else take the wheel. But nothing broke: I was beginning to feel invincible!!!...

... then the carpet track changed the layout to add a crossover: and if you came up short you effectively jumped directly into a wall. I took that jump a little too slow and...

The front shock tower mount fractured into 7 pieces: 5 were still attached to the car and 2 were lost on the track:

Front and rear tower mounts weren't parts I had ordered spares of: and LHS's here can barely keep the kits on the shelves, nevermind spares on the wall. Time to order in...

Broke a front top plate tonight could've ran the night but probably would've broke the chassis plate. Only part I've broke so far and it was a really hard hit

Are people running with the servo saver or direct with an alloy servo horn. Also, is there a low wing mount option? I think it's mentioned on the first page, but I don't see how it's possible.

I'm running straight servo horn with a old savox 1257tg and all is good so far. As for the wing it's just the stock wing mounts, mounted upside-down. Just look at ty tessman pics and you can see it. So mount upside down then put body clips on under side of the wing.

How are you guys routing your servo and ESC wires with the shorty configuration? Got any pictures?

I guess I got a little spoiled with cable management being built into my Tekno 8th scales. With this being my first 10th scale I don't really know what is common for keeping the wires away from the center diff spur and driveshafts.
