It ripped the bottom screws out that connect the shock tower to the diff housing... it was a pretty vicious hit for any vehicle to take?? Just wondering if anyone else has had this happen to them?

Did that once with my EB48. Same thing pretty much except it was a wood wall barrier. Nose down so my tower lead the way. It was bad, $100 bad Honestly, I expected a lot more damage. I broke my diff housing, but it broke where it should have.

I've only seen the yahoo above break that part (it was pretty spectacular), but I'd imagine a vicious hit like that would TKO that area. I'd rather the $14 part break than the $40 part.

People have tried a few different bodies. They are posted throughout the thread. Several people are running buggy motors I believe but a lot are running truggy as well. Its a matter of preference mostly.

do you know what they weight as a rtr at all

I've had to warranty 4 of the rear cases and the easiest way to tell is before you put your rear diff together, take a 10mm screw for the rear chassis brace and screw it into the rear diff about half way. If the diff case cracks ***(I'm saying actually CRACKS...I'm NOT talking about a white stress line, that is normal and is OK!)*** So if it cracks it is a bad case. :deathstar

Do the fixed rear cases form a white stress line if you do this test?

Anyone know which on-line retailers have fixed cases?

Yes, the new updated gearboxes can form the white stress line and that is normal. Even the front gearboxes can form these white stress lines.

I saw my opening, and I was going for it. Correct on one thing, better to break a $14 diff housing then a shock tower

Does anybody run wraps? I'm sick of painting and think I'm going to give it a try. How do they hold up? Do they extend the use of bodies(use for more than 1 wrap)? Is upgrade who everyone uses?

mydudrevo 04-16-2014 06:53 PM

They don't make a wrap for the et48. One thing I will say is in the pics online the body looks pretty ugly but in person they actually look pretty cool. I thought I was gonna have to put a different body on it but now I like it.

I got tired of painting SCT bodies so now I just go with a solid color maybe with a layer of flake on top. Saves a lot of time taping stuff off.

Ya I meant to post in the sct410 thread...whoops. but ya the body is pretty hideous. I just cut and mounted mine earlier and I like it a little more now. Looks like it hit a wall and too skinny but maybe it will continue to grow on me

I purchased some truggy tires from this guy. AWESOME PRICES and FAST SHIPPING.

DCNash55 04-17-2014 05:57 AM

what mud guards fit our truggy? and what gearing would be recommended for a 2100-2400 kv motor. going with either a viper or trinity motor....
