This was discussed in the Viper thread, they haven't updated all of their information but it does go up to 8v. Plug in the Progauge, you will see it goes past 7v.

Sweet. I'll check to see if there is a firmware update required.

Yeah, I guess speed is only as good as the track that can take advantage of it. In truth, too much speed at my skill level will likely just get me in trouble.

I have had my ET48 for three weeks now and absolutely love it. It rotates perfectly around corners and I am faster with it than I am with my RC8.2. Can some of you that have both the ET48 and the EB48.2 comment about how they compare? I am considering ditching the RC8.2 and moving to the EB48.2.

The castle 2200 is a monster it's actually way to much power I run mine turned down to 65% on large outdoor tracks. It runs great though. It barely gets warm and sensored for truggy is over rated IMO. I run mine with a HW 150a

you are running this on 4 cells, correct?

The Castle 2200kv motor doesn't have too much power, any 2200kv motor has lots of power it's just a matter of how you apply it. If you notice some of the Tekno drivers are running the Tekin 2250kv motors I think. Just keep in mind your radio does have a throttle. When I go to the store with my Corvette I don't go their at full throttle.. Just a thought. Instead of turning down the power with your esc just practice controlling your trigger finger. By the way slowing down going to the store is way easier on the tires.... ha

Thanks for the tip but my throttle finger is fine. The castle 2200 is overpowered and it is more powerful than any of the tekin motors (I have them as well) there is a large difference in power between the 2 IMO. I'm not saying that's a bad thing. Also the brakes on tekin motors are smoother. A good thing about the castle motor is it runs cool and doesn't eat mah very much at all being that it's sensorless. I'm actually switching to a 1550kv on 5s to smooth out the power a bit.

And I hear you on the tires 315-35-19s got pretty expensive before I learned that lesson lol

Actually I think I'm the only tekno driver running that motor everyone else is running the 2000kv or buggy motors I am only running it because I already had it my buddy runs the 2200 castle and my truggy outruns it quite easily and have video to prove it however it may have something to do with vehicle control as well and his is plenty fast enough for any track mine is just ridiculously over powered

Thanks for the responses. I feel the "punch" feature in the HW esc is the same as current limiting, but I am not sure about that. A HW user could help us with that ...

From what I feel its the transition from start to wide open, or half throttle, softens it up. Lower the number. Hope this helps.

Select from “Level1” to “Level9” as your like, Level1 has a very soft start effect, while level9 has a very aggressive start effect. From Level1 to Level9, the start force is increasing. Please note that if you choose “Level7” to “Level9” mode, you must use good quality battery pack with powerful discharge ability, otherwise these modes cannot get the burst start effect as you want. If the motor cannot run smoothly (the motor is trembling), it may caused by the weak discharge ability of the battery pack, please choose a better battery or a softer gear ratio.

I would start from level 3 and give that ago then if you don't like that then go to 4 or 5 till you like what you want

There's something about ridiculously over powered that I like, darn you now I have to buy another motor. Thanks!!! Must be that extra 50kv...hehehehe

egobrkr 02-11-2014 03:10 AM
