Badlands are great for bashing , but for outdoor tracks , i like the AKA city blocks mediums , or hard , red foam inserts .

All together now. Just waiting for my body to come back from the painter. Can't wait to turn some laps with this bad boy!

I noticed i cant find any place (online) that sell hard compound city blocks tires. Does anyone know of a website that sells hard cityblocks?

Hint, select quantity of 4 ;) AKA has clearance items in there all the time. Sometimes they are per tire, per pair, per 4, with foams, without foams, etc... hence the description of 1 tire.

*edit* never mind, looks like someone else read it and beat you to it as they're out of stock now.

I didn't want them. It just seemed weird that it would be only 1 tire.

Yea it might seem weird sometimes but keep an eye on the AKA site, you can get good deals their once in a while. AKA tires are awesome imo and the mounted ones are even better. I've mounted hundreds of tires in my career and it's hard to do a job that matches the quality of AKA. No I'm not sponsored by them, just a happy customer!

I agree, same. I think I've said this before, but the biggest issue with truggy tires is not as much wear, but tearing and coming loose from the wheel. The speed and size at which these speed along with the large rubber size is just rough on them. Factory AKA glued have been the best I've tested so far. Eventually they'll start to give, but last longer than others.

mavdriver 01-31-2014 04:32 PM

Thats all i run on my truggy AKA city blocks medium , and hard or mixed them they just work on the track i run on , i`m also just a satisfied customer . :D

When I go a big track for a race I look at tires not only for traction but for gearing too. The biggest track I race on has a front straight of aprox 170. So I like to gear for about 40mph. I need a little more speed on the straight but like lower gearing on the rest of the track. I've done lots of testing with different tire compounds using a small Garmin gps unit. I put on a set of hard Cityblocks and on 4s hit 40 to 41mph, med CB with same gearing 42mph and Super soft CB 44 to 45mph. So basically what I'm getting at is you can change your gearing by changing tire compounds. Think I'm bsing, try it for your self. GPS doesnt' lie.......... By the way if you're running on a small to med track this will not work as well.

The AKA team orders all work that way, they have to order everything individually. So I would assume they are left over team stuffs.

who runs 6s lipos in truggy or buggy?
what 6s batteries fit the tray?

mamdot91 01-31-2014 10:29 PM

well since the AKA website is out of stock, is there any other place I can find hard aka cityblocks?
