Nice diagnoses tech! If the Pro4HD is under warranty hit up support with this info that you tested it. They can dispatch you a new one. They will ask you for a copy of your receipt(photo).

Will using this motor to replace my pro4 4600 on my Ten-SCTE 1.8 increase My Cartwheeling distance on the track?

Hi,

I want to try this Battery, with my tekno SC powered by RX8-Pro4HD 4300. Can I use it? The battery can be damaged due to low C rating?

Thanks for any info.

You will more than likely puff that battery and bring its useful life to an abrupt end.
Save up and get a pack that's up for what you're asking from it.

Default New Guy Here!

Hey everybody, this is my second post! I joined this forum because of all the experience found here! I just yesterday ordered my Tekno SCT410 along with a Tekin RX8gen2 ESC & Tekin Pro4 HD 4300 motor. I'm in over my head! Thanks in advance for everybody's help!

I'd personally rather have the 3000kv! Unfortunately I'm building my first kit & wanna race! All my local tracks are 2s. Right now I have a ready to build sct410, Tekin RX8g2, HD4300. I have not opened the 4300kv yet cause I really want the 3000kv, but then no racing!! I think ROAR needs to open up! It makes no sense to not allow more efficient (cooler motor/esc, less strain on batteries, & double the run time) 3000kv 3s setups in short course racing. Do they want short course to fail? I'm a noob and I have figured this out with a little discussion & research of my own.

Whats the most timing any of you have ran with the 4300hd and when did you have it come in and what rpm did it end at. its seems to have so much lowend that its un-needed and most run there current limiter between 40-80. so lets put that torque to good use by moving it to the top end which will equate in more rpm. let me explain. on a 2pole motor you can run about 60* advanced befor it would no longer make an improvement and that is static timing (can timing) so this is 60* advanced from the time it starts spinning till max rpm. now this will give you all your power up top in the rpm range but it would have no low end.
on a 4 pole motor you can only get away with around 30* advanced before its so far advanced that it isnt helping make more top end power. now that is if it was static can timing and in all honesty after around 20* it would generate more heat then power.
now with the rx8 esc you can actually keep that low end power by running zero timing till a specified rpm at that rpm it will start to add in timing till the specified max rpm at that max rpm it will be at the total timing you specified. basically if the timing you want is 5* and the start rpm is 5000 and end rpm is 20k the timing will be 0 till 5000rpm then it will slowly increase to to the 5* timing till it reaches 20k rpm at 20k rpm it will stay at 5*
so wouldn't it make since to have the end rpm as close to the redline of your motor as possible and run as much timing as you can at the rpm before heat becomes and issue. a 4300kv at the nominal voltage 7.4 would be 31,820 rpm so having timing start at 5000-10,000rpm and ramp to say 18* timing by 30,000 would allow you to make more top end and do it efficiently allowing you to run a smaller pinion without losing top end speed of a bigger pinion.

There really isn't a "most timing needed" scenario with the Pro4 HD. That motor makes so much torque that if you need more top end, gear it up.

These 4 pole motors don't respond well to timing. Anything over 10 and it'll just eat up the battery and make heat.

Proper gearing is FAR more important. So make sure you have a choice of pinions and spur gears.

Your theory is valid however you're not taking into account the motors efficiency and usable power band. 4 pole motors in general do not like being rev'd out, the amp draw gets higher than you'd think even when it's unloaded.

Currently using Rx8 Gen2 with a PRO4HD 4300 on a Tekno SCT410. Overall grip is really good on my current setup for hard packed clay. Although I notice a lot of wheel spin accelerating out of corners. My questions are, does lowering the current limit help with that problem? How does one typically use current limit as a tuning option? Under what conditions is current limit activated/deactivated?

That's exactly what the current limiter is for. Wheel spin off the corners and launches.
