I just put my Sct410 together with R10 pro and Orion 550 motor. Was doing the exact samething. Thru Rx8 in with same motor. No issues, thinking it was the ESC.

Just put my Tekin Pro4 4000 back in and it ran perfect. Changed and put the Pro4 HD back in and same thing but I did notice that if the shaft stopped with the flat part for the pinion screw facing me it had to be "kicked started" if it stopped facing away from me it would start back on its own. Could it be a bad sensor ? Are this motors warranted over 5 mins? Always had great luck with Tekin till this.

You can turn the ESC and radio on and slowly turn the wheels to check the sensors. There will be 3 lights on the ESC that will cycle, only 2 a sensors not picking up. They are extremely dim, do it in a place without a lot of light.

That's on the other motor? Or the HD?
If its on the other motor it may be the sensor wire. Even if its on the HD it may still be the sensor wire.

IT can be the sensor board, yes. If you're using a Tekin esc you have an onboard sensor tester! Make sure to use it!

Watch this video..it's tough to see the 1st sensor at times due to the neutral led being on...there's a trick:

Make sure you're using 250 software: www.teamtekin.com/hotwire.html

Next use the sensor checker feature to verify the sensors are read by the esc.

Also, verify the A B C wiring by removing the senor harness entirely, and attempting to power the motor. It should cog a bit but should drive the motor without issue. Does it?

Getting ready to buy a SCT410, will be installing a RX8 Gen2 with a Pro4HD 4300. There are 2 small-medium outdoor tracks in my area. I live in South Texas and the ambient temperature is hot which is why I decided on a 550 can to help keep temperatures down. What pinions should I buy?

3 good LEDs on the other motor, only 2 on the HD

OK, Just put a brand new sensor wire on it and still don't work. If you spin the shaft to get it going I think it is 3 lights on, if you don't spin the shaft I know it's only 2 lights on. I guess it only fires 2 poles at the same time. With the other Pro4 not HD it works fine and with a RevTech it works fine, What could it be other than a bad sensor on the motor?

You need a new sensor board in the motor.
