Now that I have my shorty packs, do you guys mind to please tell me what you are using to keep the battery seated and forward? I am assuming it is similar to the foam inserts that come with the kit, there is just a couple of inches I need to fill now and I am not sure if a wad of pads is a good solution. I wasn't planning on using an ESC shelf, I still might not, undecided (if that makes a difference). I did an image search to save myself from asking lame questions, I just didn't see anything conclusive.
Thanks again for all of the great advice you guys have given! Merry Xmas! Mike |

Thanks for the response! I just realized there was an actual market for these, I had no idea. I just realized Avid sells them, etc.
Might as well ask, are ESC shelfs trendy or awesome? I am going to get this car done and awesome just in time for it to be outmoded. LOL Thanks! |

I use an ESC shelf and mount my receiver below the ESC. I drilled and countersunk 2 holes in the chassis and mounted a toe block as the rear stop for the shorty Lipo. I have always liked running my batteries all the way forward with shorty packs.
Thanks again! |
Avid Shelf>Every other Shelf.
It features adjustability that no other shelf has. |

I have an Avid esc shelf that I ran on my buggy for 4 races. It didn't really work for the type of track I race on, so I took it off. Out of the few shelves made, the Avid shelf is the best one in my opinion.

just watch the clearance of your ESC, with the shelf. My Novak GTB2 non-low profile rubs against the body (JC Finnisher) My BHR 80A did not

One of these days I will see you at TRCR.. I usually just go there and spend all day practicing (great way to spend a day off of work!). Thanks again for all of your advice! |

Just in time for everyone that got 4.2 or Centro kits for Christmas to be really pissed off
|
Going to run centro and get B5 and dump B4.2 is 2 or 3 months when they are available.
|
how many people are really going to buy both the B5 and the B5M? That seems like a lot to have rear and mid motor....
|
I have a question for those of you running the esc shelf. Are any of you running the receiver in the battery tray? Also, are you just securing the receiver with servo tape and mounting the foam block in front of it? Thanks.
