It was said in the old B4.1 thread that blue ano is the hardest to match. So given those two things unless JCon was using the same shop as AE the chances of the blue ano matching is really bad.

My question is how is this any different/better than the AE plate or the AVID plate? The weakness of the AE plate is that the material is all removed from one side, this is going to give it the tendency to bend as there are stresses in the part from the machining process. The AVID plate is machined clean through, in a different direction than the AE plate and not as near the motor mount. Honestly the AVID plate should be the best design of the milled plates I've seen. That said someone was just complaining of the softness of the AL used on his plate and that the screws stripped out. That's obviously not good.

The difference this plate is from the Avid or AE plate is how it is milled. The "Honeycomb" milling is to strengthen the motor plate when landing on your motor end of the car. The slotted milling you see on the AE and Avid tend to let top bend more easily and this is suppose to take care of that. I personally really like the look of this milling better as it is different. As for color matching the anodizing, im color blind so it looks close enough to me lol!

Thats how my car is mostly black (avid, JC) then the rest of it blue. hinge pin brace, rear hubs, shock collar.(hopefully will be black soon if Avid or JC makes that stuff in black). A little birdy from avid said lots stuff for the AE vehicles will be coming soon.

Maybe Avid will make its own 2wd buggy one day.
For the life of me I don't see why they just don't make a buggy.
Maybe there is more money in aftermarket parts over selling kits.

Didnt Coach design the B4? if so, they already have the guy that designed that car you use, lol.

If avid ever does release a full kit my Associated cars will go up for sale.

My anodized AE B4.2 parts are already different shades of blue, lol. None of it matches perfectly anyway. The anodizing on my T4.1 is fairly consistent though. I understand where you are coming from, but when AE can't even get their own parts in the same kit to match your fighting an uphill battle.

Kurt has designed a new chassis for the b4 platform, I saw it at the recent surf city classic, it is a slim inline design and able to use a shorty, full stick pack and saddle packs. It is going to be aluminum and will come with a body. It is a little longer in design but he has a reason for it. Also he states that he will design a mid motor configuration once he finishes the design.

I saw it also at the surf city also. I was working tech and it was very nice. Light, Clean and good looking. Im stoked that it will be coming out. I would rather support avid than AE, TLR or Kyosh.

the avid b4 chassis will also be driven at the upcoming worlds so keep an eye out for it, Kurt drove very well at surfcity and the car was really stable and had tons of steering and rear traction.
