Well I'm not going to give full credit to the shock rebuild but I'm sure it didn't hurt my results this weekend. Track was inconsistent at best and I made a terrible tire choice for the A Main which really set me back. Here is my best heat of the day, car hooked up well and I had the most consistent traction and lap times of the day. A few bobbles at the end cost me a little.

Anyone try the Kyosho X rings? My old 4.2 used velvets, and they never needed anything.

I think the X-rings are too small for the new BB shocks. Not 100% sure though.

I have a set...which dimension are we concerned about? I was running an x-ring before this rebuild, not Kyosho, when I rebuilt I went with the AE rings to see if it made a difference in my suck back issue. It did not.

I just got them out and compared AE orings to the Kyosho Xrings and they are dimensionally identical.

Factory seals fit the best, may not last forever but their performance is hard to beat.

Are the deep dish rims better for handling on a buggy in the rear, or is it better to keep the narrow wheel base in the rear!?

Anyone have to shim the top shaft? I built a whole new transmission and when it was all together the top shaft had quite a bit of slop in it. I used (2) .3 shims in the case and it was nice. Just thinking I shouldn't need to shim it. I bought all new parts minus the bearings. Am I going to be ok?

Yeah, I noticed that too, but I think when you tighten the slipper you actually pull the topshaft to the bearing on the rightside, (thats why there is a bearing spacer).. When the slipper is mounted there is no play left.

OK so I noticed the slop when the slipper was on and SLIGHTLY tightened, not where it needed to be set, just installed if that makes sense. Will the slop go away when I tighten it more when I actually adjust it correctly?

I guess I just have never noticed this slop before.

With all this talk on seals. How often do you guys replace slipper pads? Or do you resurface?

Well I seen at the lhs they have buggy wheels that have a deep dish look, kinda look like t4 wheels, with a hole that the lug nut goes into, they have got to be at least a 3mm offset! I even seen a couple guys using them!!
