my local track most people run like a 35 -36 with a 69 spur would the car be different if u ran like a 30- 72 . with the 69 spur i have plenty of speed just a little soft on bottom. sorry guys i dont know much about gearing.

if you want more punch, you can drop a couple teeth and check temps. 30/72 is way different than 35/69. I am not sure i would go that far in what I assume to be 17.5
|
yes 17.5 d3.5
|
72/32......and when I run the 69 it's 69/34. This is with Tekin Gen2's
|
I ran 72/32 for a long time, but that gearing was with a different 17.5 that made more rpm, so it worked out well. Also ran 75/32 on the last Short Course Shootout track here and nobody else could run that same gearing and make the jumps like I was. Was kind of funny listening to people complain about it too.
I'm running 66/33 right now and loving it. Ran it with 34 and it was faster but didn't like the bottom end, and temps were a little warm for my taste. I want to go lower than 66 but haven't found anyone that makes a slipper spur smaller, and my current Avid is the smallest they make. |

Your running a final drive ratio of 4.80, so you can achieve the same ratio using a 72/39 setup
Running the smaller spurs also move the motor closer to the rear axle, which changes the weight over the rear axle. Another small tuning aid for rear traction and rotation. |

It's 5.20 actually, and pretty sure that wouldn't even fit.
