Sold off the RB6 and going to stick with the b4 until the b5 comes out. The rb6 was a very nice car, but I like you guys more, lol.

Can you make a quick comparison between the two? From what I've read so far, Rb6 is clearly superior to B4

VTS. The V2 is the lightest.

hmm, I will weight my avid and v2 tonight. I though someone said the avid was still lighter than the v2. The vts is just silly for 17.5. way too heavy. Hartson ran the v2 at the last stock JC national race. Its always interesting to see what they chnage on their cars when the drop down to stock after running mod. A lot of the stock guys here look at the pros setups and try to emulate them in the stock class.

Yup, I should have mentioned that it's for 17.5. When I ran 13.5 I had the ballast weight as well as 21g extra (7g next to receiver and 7 g in each triangle).

Is anybody running their 4.2 on indoor carpet?
I did not see any setups posted.
There are quite a few 4.1 carpet/turf setups out there though.
I would assume I could use one of them if somebody can recommend a b.b. shock setup for high grip carpet.
Or if there is a 4.2 carpet setup out there...can somebody point me to it.

Car coming this week...trying to absorb this thread as fast a possible.
Thanks.

I believe the avid is 7 grams lighter than the v2...when the triad came out hardly anyone was using a vts in a 2wd application (it was primarily a 2/4wd sc thing).

It might be. I am only going off memory here. If that is the case then it would be a lot lighter then the VTS. Somebody mind weighing one for us?

Copied from the avid site

light weight, compact design (TRIAD 11.2g Vs. Stock 16.4g)

That could be V2 and VTS is 7g.

All I know about Carpet setup is that some people prefer the gear diff over the ball diff. How or why is beyond me, as I feel I can fine tune my ball diff to perfection for any environment and level of grip. The 4.2 I traded for had the gear diff in it and it was almost un-drivable (for me) but I swapped it out for the Ball diff and suddenly it's a whole new car and just as easy to drive as my T4.1.

V2: gear, pads, plates, spring and spring washer =17g

VTS: same as above =23g

the stock B4.2 setup actually worked really well. One of the big things that helped for me was using the lightest rear sway bar available.

I also went up I believe 2 spring sizes up front and 1 in the rear over stock.

I'll take a look and see what i ended up with. Mind you I didn't have carpet specific tires like Dboots of yellow mini pins so you may fine you need to stiffen things up a bit more.
