I balance about every 3 charges or once a week for me. I normally balance before the mains, to try and squeeze all the power I can. Does it make me faster.....No, but it makes me feel better, lol. I have checked the IR on my cells and have noticed that one cell is 2x the IR of the other cell. Once that starts to happen, the cells will start getting out of sync more, thus balancing should become more critical.
That is why cav finished 4th, he should have balanced his pack.....lol

We don't have the same experience. Although you have waaaay more time in this hobby than I ever will, I find it necessary to balance my 2s packs frequently. I have the luxury of having several 2s packs from which to choose, so the additional time it takes to balance my batteries have never been an issue. Just my 2 cents.

Just that personally have packs that never have received a balance & they stay closer to spec then the ones that have been balanced..

cutoff voltage can play a roll in the need to balance as well. Depending on the quality of your backs and how low you set the cutoff, the cells can get out of balance more so than with a higher cutoff value from what I have seen, especially in 1/8.
Me personally, I run a duo style charger so the extra time to balance-charge a pack is insignificant.
so, back on topic, anyone have a shock and piston suggestion (AE) to start with for indoor carpet? Picked up some AE shock springs and pistons, big bores to go in some kyosho shocks to make comparisons easier to everyone else. Last jam session front felt great, rear needed a bit resistance coming off the big jump on to the concrete-ish surface.

The pistons that came with the vehicle were 5 hole 1.2mm up front, and 4 hole 1.3mm in the rear that I think had one of the holes filled or maybe they were blanks drilled, not really sure.
Shocks feel great, though, if someone wanted to trade for a new set of AE big bores I probably would be open to it just to have all AE.
Gonna try out running a heavy pack as well, big 7200mah 80C one and compare how I like it to the shorty 4000mah one I have as well.
