So overall you have found it a valuable setup change to try? I'm considering trying it because I like the look of it and curious to how it handles

Only thing I was thinking was because it takes up the rest of the space in the rear of the battery slot it would be like having a full pack again with no real option on where the battery sits correct? And if you have it mounted to the chassis not higher above you would have to be pretty happy with your toe block before putting it in lol

Ok sorry silly question, I should have just asked, what everyone has been noticing overall for the change.

One of these days I'm going to bite the bullet and get the sexy supermodel (RB6). Chances are she will only abuse me though and make me wish I had my old girl back
Now that right there is funny stuff!!

I'm not going to say that it helped in any way, shape, or form, other than it made my car lighter due to the shorter motor wires. But everyone told me that running it on a loose track like I was on would be bad. The truth is it felt no worse. I was faster, but I believe that was just tires.

I'll know more this weekend, but yes, for now I am quite happy with it.

a change as simple as centering you electronics isnt goin to make a good car all of a sudden go to bad, there should be subtle differences as far as maybe reacting quicker slightly, and maybe jumping flatter, but the benefits wont be a huge difference IMO, i did this a year or so ago on a rb5 and really didnt notice a Huge difference

I think we all know about the new AKA premounts by now. I am not sure how many of you run the impacts or handlebars, but the pricing on these look very good. I dont think the hexlites rear are the best, but they are pretty decent. I know if you are reusing your reds and dont like the hexlites, then this is probably not a great deal. But for others, this might be a nice cost saver.

"AKA introduce the pre-mounted Handlebar and Impact 1/10th buggy tyres. Both treads are available in soft and super soft compounds and they feature the standard Red inserts and your choice of white or yellow Hexlite wheels."

Wheel = 6.89
Tire = 11.99
Insert = 7.19
total = 26.07
Towers Premount Price: 20.99 (amain does not have them listed yet)

This is nice but unless they do handlebars in clay compound, I won't get excited.

yeah, it looks like only soft and super soft. we dont use clay tires locally. So I am all good. but the tire of choice for the local indoor is M4 Suburbs. But my outdoor track uses the impacts from AKA quite a bit. I was actually planning to order ribs, impacts and red inserts. No eta on when these come out though. Sometimes I wish they would do these press releases when they were ready to ship to distro's. They are such teases.

You're always looking for more traction. I'd run the open cell foams.

What inserts are they using for the premounts, red closed cell?

@top I have been, but they really dont last very long. At least the JC ones dont. Plus, we are going to night racing soon and that will mean more traction. last fall my buggy would come off the track with the foams all deformed in the tire and I need to massage them back. I would think the CC holding the shape of the tire better would yield better and more consistent traction.
