Looks like Tekno added a straight cut diff pinion. Pros? Cons?

Coming from my auto racing background straight cut gears are even louder. Take reverse for example in a manual transmission. Reverse is always straight cut.

helical cut gears are quieter. plus they can take more load vs straight cut.

The gears that come in the kit are straight cut also. Tooth count looks to be the same. Not sure whats really different except the pinion appears to be ground on the bearing surfaces. Maybe jut a higher quality gear set??? Not sure why though because the stock gears have been just fine.

I wouldn't mind seeing an optional set of gears to allow over-drive on the front diff or under-drive on the rear diff. I always loved that option on my xray and mugen cars. Really made the car drive great on low grip tracks.

Yeah like jhautz said, the stock gears are straight cut as well. Looks like the new pinion gear is coated in something; maybe anodized? Or something similar to DLC coating.

Now that you said that it reminded me of straight cut in cars. Well I ordered 2 sets and will see what's what

it's been a few days since I've had my diffs out, but aren't the stock gears already straight cut?
**EDIT** I'm late to the party I see....

It looks like 5111 are cnc machined is the main difference. The only difference I can see in the pics are the machining around where the bearing goes.

The all black pinion what everyone has is straight cut but has a very slight curve in the gear vs. the new one being completely straight as it is supposed to go with the ring gear.

I got my 410 used and it has no rear or center brace? I know they come with them and was wondering if I should order some. Any thoughts...... I run on a large 1/8th scale track with big jumps and hard landings. I would think that if Tekno designed em that way then they should be on it....
