I was just going to put the RevTech 4800 in there and run it with my 5500 saddle packs, but thanks to you guys for turning me on to SMC, I got a nice 6500 for $44 which allowed me to get the P the ro4 HD as well

I have a Savox 1256TG and a 1258TG I could use, which do you think would work best in this truck? basically 277.7oz / 0.15s vs 166.6 oz/in 0.08s i'm guessing 166 won't cut it and will need to use the slower one.
I ran the 1258 in my SCTE for about 1.5yrs and currently running in SCT410 and does great

just an FYI on the Pro HD, you really need to pay attention to your ESC settings. The motor can extract its pound of flesh in the form of puffed lipos.

I have been running the RCGod setup, and for the most part its working, just wondering what others think for this track.
Thanks in advance,

If you're getting the wires hot enough to melt solder and you have no drive train drag, you have an electrical problem.

No, it's actually the opposite. 2s 4wd scts draw more constant amps than 4s powered buggies. High Kv motors and 2 cell batteries put huge strain on electronics. Couple that with the ~7lb running weight and you've got a huge amp draw. Deans work well on 8th scale electric because 4s systems with low Kv motors are much more efficient. 4mm bullets and up are the only way to go for 4wd shortcourse. I'd say deans are a no-go on 4wd shortcourse because they can't sustain the amps these trucks dish out. I don't even like them on my e-buggy and i only run them because if i don't, i void my battery's warranty. They're a pain to solder as well compared to bullet plugs. I really don't get why they're so popular.
If that's the theory than those little 1/24 scale electric cars must need connectors the size of car battery posts!!!

As far as setups I'm running the SRAMOS setup--it's awesome--especially on mid-high bite indoor--and I've gone through lots of setups!!

Thanks for the heads up. Any suggested RX8 Gen 1 settings?

I plan to use the new SMC 6500 70c for actual racing then the Orion carbon pro 5500 90c saddle packs from the SC10 4x4 for warm ups and maybe qualifiers in a pinch. Just got one SMC for now if it works out will probably get another.

If they live up to their rating should have over 400 amps for both which would melt the RX8 first.

Any suggested gearing for a large 1/8 track? i got the novak pinon sets so I have 12-17 to test with then can steal a 18-20 from my ebuggy in a pinch.

The deans aren't unuseable in 4wd sct, they just have more resistance than bullets. If you want maximum flow, bullets are the way to go. But i agree, if drivetrain is free and solder joints are solid, then it must be something in the esc or motor. Ask anybody and they'll tell you 2s high Kv setups with 6-7lb running weights will cause electronics strain and high amps being pulled.

Yes they are different straps, TKR40007K should be the right ones.

I've used traxxas plugs which are rated at 100 amps, they get warm but work well.

I'd try out the new castle creations connectors, they are rated at 200 amps and use a 6.5mm bullet.

Ok guys, last night I took her out for a few passes to get the motor warm and see if anything would break or if problems would pop up and sure enough.. So here was the problem Took passes, up and down the street, at most 100-200ft and brought her back to just check temps because it just sounded too loud for comfort.. The esc was cool no heat at all (which made sense), the motor was a little warm (Made sense) but the pinion... when I touched it it dag on almost burnt my finger.. The only thing I could chalk it up to was mesh.. So i readjusted more, still a little warm but no where near as hot.. I'm running a Mod1 Hot Racing 17T pinion on the Pro4HD 4300.. Anybody else ever have this issue, or happen to have a close up of what a correct mesh looks like? I never had mesh issues before maybe I'm just out of practice..
