Put me on the pre-order list as well... will take on as soon as they are available. I am currently running an RC8.2e SCT conversion and love it. That said, I've been running an EB48 since August and ever since I've been saying that a converted EB48 would be "the perfect SCT".

I have to say, Danny... you guys are very tuned in to the market. Can't wait!

This is exactly right. Danny eluded to a new class, and I felt very strongly that 4wd SCT was the best move for them...I prayed he wouldn't try to revive the 1/10 4wd buggy class like he mentioned once, just because it wouldn't be the most profitable direction, and I want Tekno to be around for as long as possible.

That said, I feel strongly that the next best move, if infact the goal is to grow into a major force in RC (competing with the big boys) is 1/10 2wd buggy. It's one of the most competitive classes next to SCT, has a huge following, and would require a ground-up redesign. This would set them up for a 2wd sct platform (cross between this new truck and the buggy) and 4wd 1/10 buggy.

Good luck Danny

Thanks Joey! And thanks to everyone else as well for all of your enthusiasm. Can't wait to get this kit out!

Do you have an eta on the kits release?

That's the million dollar question...
Danny, can you give us some insight into what parts this shares with the buggy?

Keeping an eye on this one..........

Acill 11-10-2012 02:40 PM

Danny said a few pages back it was about 80% common with the EB48.

I consider myself a sportsman driver and ran against the 3 Tekno trucks and sponsored drivers last night at SDRC, thier trucks look great.

Considering I run a lot of Tekno parts on my Losi SCTE, count me in on the pre-order. Smartest business move to grow in this class is keeping the same wheel offset as the SCTE.

Hopefully this translates into a quick product release. I know Danny has been working tirelessly on perfecting the handling of the truck Everytime I see the man he is busy working away with non stop testing late into the evening. I'm definately buying one of these as soon as it is released.

Yeah, including the diffs. I'm hoping he can be a little more specific that's all

Look at the few pictures we've seen and you'll notice a few more of these similar parts.

The rod ends appear to be the same. The arms do as well...which would be super cool since that's the #1 part I break...lol. I would bet most of the bearings are the same, probably all of the hardware at the end of each arm (steering blocks and all that). The entire drivetrain is probably the same.

For an EB48 owner who also races mod4 this truck just makes sense...and if it's anything like the EB48 you'll be saving money with this truck due to durability. Obviously SCT drivers crash more often than buggy drivers, so this is a big selling point ;)
