If it's anything like my eb48, this thing will be killer.

Having an 4x4 SCT with the durabiltiy that Tekno is known for, plus having solid diffs and metric hardware makes it worth while.

I think a slight more chubbiness in comparison to the Losi but with vastly more durability and parts life would be a very small price to pay.

Heck, some reports guys with sC104x4s get them up to 6lbs +

I probably am one of them, but I like em thick :)

That's awesome man some real suitable size shocks to boot!!!

Last weekend after our race was over I drove my EB48 on our tight indoor track and thought to myself "I wish my SCTE drove like this". The EB48 with outdoor pin type tires drove easier than the SCTE does with proper clay tires.

Oh well, I guess I'll start saving now. ;)

for some of us lol.

But, I am quite sure people wanting this buggy are willing to switch if necessary.

Used market for SCTE mounted tires just went up :)

Pretty sure SC10 wheels fit too, the +3's won't be legal though.

Some of the basics:
The SCT410 will share about 75-80% of the parts from the EB48 (diffs too). That means there are already spares on the market and there are already a load of options available before it gets released.

People have been clamoring for an SCT with true 1/8th scale roots and we have answered the call. But we didn't phone it in. There are a lot of newly designed parts on the car to replace some of the heavier 1/8th scale parts and keep the weight down.

In full trim (all bumpers, side guards, with a big 6400mah 2s battery) the truck is ~6.7lbs. With optional parts and a shorty pack, it's a couple ounces over the minimum at around ~5.7lb with room to possibly go even lower. We'll have a very simple how-to video explaining how we got the weight so low.

For indoor use we've found lighter is better. For outdoor tracks that are rougher, the truck feels better when it's a little heavier. The good part is that you can tailor it to just about any situation.

As far as durability, normally we're pretty modest, but we think it's the most durable truck on the market - hands down. Handling is consistent and can be tuned to suit different driving styles. Hard anodized 16mm shocks anyone?

Music to my ears

Wow this is great Danny....I'm very happy for you and Tekno. I really hope that the eb48 and this new sct is just the tip of the iceberg. Now with this truck coming out hopefully a ET48 wont be to far off:sneaky:

Poor Durangos...

Not that interested in running 4WD Short Bus but I do like the approach Tekno takes when designing their products.

Awesome job Danny! I cant wait to pre-order this when the time comes!! Please keep me informed. I would love to be able to get the first one in Arizona and show it off for you here!!! I sent you an email too.

Wow great news, I have been running Tekno stuff for years, from when I first converted my nitro Revo to brushless power back in 2007 to my D8 V4 conversion. I just retired my Durango DESC and made my MIP SCTE my main ride, now I may have to retire the SCTE.

OK Danny, give me some hope. I was literally minutes away from pulling the trigger on the Team C truck, when I saw this thread!! I really want to run 4x4 this winter, say it will be so...and put me on the pre order list.

spunkysandoval 11-10-2012 07:13 AM

I'm really interested to find out how he was able to get the weight down to 5.7lbs

care to share any of the tricks? I want to get my EB48 down there
