hi guys,
specially those who can't wait. anyone try to convert EB48 into SCT410? If you don't care about ROAR legal (a few mm too wide), and want to use 8th scale wheels instead of SC wheels, then it is as simple as strapping on bumpers and body posts for the truck body. If you want SC wheels or ROAR legal, you need to replace the arms and side drive shafts as they're not only a little too long, but a little too beefy to fit inside SC wheels correctly from what I remember. You MIGHT be able to get away with it by doing some trimming and not allowing full turning, but I didn't look into it far beyond knowing I'd want to replace the arms and such if I did it. |
Will the parts for this truck be released at the same time, or will we have to wait for those?

pretty much all but a few parts will be at the same time. We might get a few parts later than the rest, but Id say 90% of the parts will be the same week.

I'm starting to think I may have to buy another EB48. That way I can use the lightened chassis and upgraded shock towers for the 410 and have spare diff parts etc to be shared between the truck and the EB I have now.

I would wait to just run it stock and go from there. No need to hop it up until you drive it.

Any idea when you'll have the manual online? Would love to get some hard specs on this thing.

17 mm wheels
Is it possible to mix and match SCT410 and eb48 parts in order to use a wheel like the DE trinidad with zero offset and a 17mm hex?
I just want to test to see if going from a 12mm hex to a 17mm hex yields any added performance. It makes sense that the larger hex may have more stability and therefore better traction, but only testing would prove this. More and more people are going to the Mugen converted SC truck which is debatable as to whether or not it is race legal. In any case, 17mm wheel hexs are used, and as far as I know, there is nothing wrong with using SC tires mounted on SC wheels with a 17mm hex. |

Tekno mentioned a few pages back that there would be a 17mm option for the truck. I don't believe the buggy hubs will work, it will be a different setup.

Correct. We are still testing the 17mm option with the DE Trinidad 17mm wheels. The driveline parts between the SCT410 and EB48 are not interchangeable.
