I noticed in the option parts, that the hinge pin holders only come in pairs.
Since we already have 1 on the truck (thanks for adding that), is there a plan to make the other half available separately?

I am in for just the FR and RR RF. Maybe sell a upgrade kit Tekno?

Yep, 15t should be good to start with on either a Pro4 4600 or an SC411 5200. I've been running the same gearing on both for a while now (was 13t in my SCTE). I seem to pull a bit more power now than with the 13t on the SCTE and gain a little more speed, but I'd say it is the best starting point for anything but a wide open outdoor or really tight indoor track.

Thanks....

Can someone point me to a link to wheels that works with the plastic hexes?

Have you tested them? Do they work?

spunkysandoval 01-21-2013 03:10 PM

I just put some SC104x4 Aluminum wheel hexes on the truck and i measured them up. They are 1.7mm wider each side than the stock setup. I filed the back down and made them 1.3mm wider than stock per side. Hopefully that is still in the legal limit.

BTW...Hopefully I will have a setup on the Tekno website later this week. I am sure Danny will share it when I get it up there. Busy at work and have the Reedy race this week! The truck is amazing though! Cant wait to race it again!

Check the EB48 thread, I'm pretty sure a guy in there was able to get his Activ8 to fit. And since SC's use shorter motors you actually have more space for the ESC.

Thanks. I checked out the EB48 thread and there are a few running the Activ8. It's a tight fit from what they say but it fits and that's good enough for me.

Not at this point. Having a spare front isnt a bad thing though. May come in handy some day.

I bought two of the SMC 6500mah 2s packs this week. I normally use the Gen Ace 5000mah 50c 2s packs and I really wish I would have saved my cash and stayed with Gen Ace. The SMC packs were soft, weak acceleration compared to the GA. On our indoor track (75'x35') I was right at .70 slower with the SMC packs. That's a huge loss in lap time. I sold the packs at the track the first day I tried them.

I was thinking the same thing. I think buying the alum hinge pin holders would be a great option. Typically, the front hinge pin holder are the ones that break. The rears can stay plastic.

At first the price of $399 didn't seem too bad, but when you look at adding aluminum hinge pin holders ($43 x 2 front & rear = $86), aluminum ackerman $25 and aluminum shock caps......

They should have just included at least the hinge pin holders and charged $50 more, a few people have already tore up the plastic parts.
