So are there any aluminum hexes out now that keep the stock sct width? I don't want to buy something that doesn't work.

everything stock except rear hubs not quite full forward (smallest spacer in front, two big ones in back) and removed rear chassis brace. that's it. everything else is box stock. yes, MC Ions.

also have about 1 degree of tow out up front.

Rear still looks a little loose..That body looks killer tho!!!!How does it feel compared to the Losi??Be honest Phreak.I know there has not been much tuning time Yet !!:tire:

The sc10 4x4 hexes work but you have to sand the lip off of the back side. They bound up a little so I took. 005" more off and they are fine.

Does anyone know if Tekno is working on making some hexes for us to keep the stock width? And if so anyone have an ETA on them? I really prefer to use Tekno parts as much as possible because of the good luck I've had with their stuff in the past.

Kinda funny story...

I went to one of my local tracks Friday night for some play time; they told me the hobby shop had three SCT410's in stock...

Saturday afternoon I showed up at the track to run the 2 round of qualifying and the mains. Second round, first heat of 4wd SC, a friend of mine set TQ on another friend's SCT410, on his first time driving the truck ever! Next heat, Chad Panek piloted his SCT410 to a new TQ by a couple of seconds; which he has only had for a week or so. I ran a conservative qualifier to make sure I got in the A-main; ended up qualifying third overall. So after the qualifying rounds, SCT410's are sitting 1,2, and 3 for the A-main. Next thing you know one of the Race Directors came over and told me all the Tekno trucks in the hobby shop were sold! It's funny how that stuff works...

The Aluminum hexes offered by Tekno for this thing are 1mm wider, but still keep it all legal width.

or you could go with a hobbywing SCT-Pro at half the cost of the tekin.

Whats the difference in the 3656sd and the 3672sd ? On hobbypartz they say the 3672 is (best for 4wd)

The 3672 is the old 550 can 2 pole motor, that description is probably old too.... it was the best HW 4wd motor when it came out. The 3656sd motors is the popular motor of choice today and worth every penny!

So the alum hexes are not a direct fit(You have to sand something down on them so they don't bind) is this correct? I ordered some the other day.

So here's the deal. When I stopped running my SCTE at the end of the summer, it was running like crap. Combination of a bad setup and I think just having some worn parts causing excessive slop. Comparing the tekno to when I had my SCTE pretty dialed I would say that my tekno is at least as good and that's 10 or so packs into its life with little tuning. So it's hard to compare them at this point. I can tell you this, I'm really happy with the tekno and I'm glad I made the switch.

As for the loose rear...IMO the only spot where I see it occasionally is the rear end walking out a bit at the end of the straight. I'm not going to be the guy who changes his setup to address one part of the track. I love the way the truck rotates off power so I'm hesitant to try and lock that rear end down. If anything, I might try going to 4K in the rear diff, but again, the truck feels great on 90% of the track. I don't want to change that.

is this with all the identified wheels, or just a particular set?

For example, SC10 4x4 wheels, do they maintain the legal width with the alloy tekno hexes?

I always thought the scte wheels and the sc104x4 (non +3) wheels had the same offset.. could be wrong though

Cain 02-05-2013 09:19 AM

yeah. wondering that too. I got a couple sets of jconcepts scte wheels coming in, will report back unless someone beats me to it. But right now now the stock sc10 4x4 wheels with the stock hexes are right at the limit up front on the flowtek body I have, rear I have more clearance on the body.

I think they are different by 1.4mm. The AE wheels will be wider. So SCTE wheels with the +1mm hexes should be legal.
