Pretty simple, huh? Let me know how you like it when you get a chance to run it. There is a lot more room to move the battery forward and aft to change your weight balance without adding additional weight.

The 10x1.2 pistons are the stock ones right?

What seems to be the popular springs for small indoor?

I've got a lot of rear chassis roll, not sure if I should fight that with springs or swaybar?

swaybars I would give a look if it feels good jumping personally.

I cant seem to keep my rear end from having some sag to it now. Shocks are good, no leaks. It just feels to soft even with heaver oil it it. I just ordered a new set of springs, got the Hot Bodies 76mm set, Orange, yellow, white, red and gray. If anyone has any tips to tighten up the rear end and make it feel better it would be a big help. I am running at SRS currently and in my back yard track setup similar to SRS to practice for this weekend.

How old are the rear springs? On my cars as soon as the rear end starts to drop and they feel flat i swap them out for a new set. Dont let your cars sit on the wheels when not in use. This will wear the springs faster.

Paul, you are running the cactus classic? Which classes?

I gotta/wanna say something about the questions on gearing. Most any track I've been on, the race is not won on the staight. Yes you can pick up or lose ground on the straights, but for the most part the race is won in the corners and short sections. set up/gear of what ever you call it to pull the corners, hit the jumps and make sure your truck can power you thru those sections. The guy who blast by everyone on the straight usually loses alot more on the other 75% of the track. Temp the motor AND the speedo to find out what makes the combo happy. hot motor - cool esc is under geared. ESC is much hotter than motor its overgeard and both are warm its right. Try to find the combo that keeps them both warm.

That's pretty much where I am at right now with mine. Tinkering with gearing and esc timing. The handling is dialed fare for just have one race day on it as I won one of the qualifiers and finished 2nd in the A, and I seem to be looking for more speed, even though its already eclipsed my fastest time with my old lighter truck. I think its so planted, it feels slower...Not to mention, I am not used to a truck that weighs as much as this one does, but he is right...Heat is the enemy.

Right now, my motor temps 115° and the ESC is temping 148°...I went up in gear, but then just added timing in the ESC which added heat in the ESC...So if I make it out this week, I am going up one tooth, and dropping the timing way back...Its in the right range, just looking for a little more without the heat. I di pull the truck all back apart to see how everything is holding up after putting some laps on it this week, and I am glad I did....Some of the locktight was letting things loosen up that shouldn't..........Red locktight has now fixed that.

If your esc is hot, adding more timing is a horrible idea. You need to off load some of the work to the motor since it is running so cool. Try gearing and maybe motor timing and put the esc into blinky.

Did the battery tray mod.. this really seems to balance the weight well and I figure it will jump a lot better. Imo it would be nice to see a different battery tray design for full adjustment with the battery all the way back.

What do you reccomend for diff oils for a hard packed, very dusty, very slick outdoor track? Doing research I find most reccomending 5-5-2 or 3-3-2 for those conditions, but I don't know how that would relate to the Tekno. Right now I'm running 7-7-3. I'm having a lot of trouble keeping the rear end under control. I'm just learning to drive off-road so I'm sure a big part of that is my bad throttle control, but anything I can do set-up wise to make the car perform better under those conditions will certainly improve my learning curve. Any opinions would be appreciated.

Have you removed the center and rear chassis brace? Also, have you shimmed the rear hubs all the way forward?

Sorry, I suppose I should have added what I've done to the car so far. I've removed the middle and rear braces, and moved the rear hubs forward. I've moved the rear camber link down on the tower ( that seemed to make it worse) and now I have the car set up with the rear camber link longer and up on the tower but haven't had a chance to test it.

I've also put a little stiffer spring in the front to help with the nose down jumping and that seems to have worked well.

Maybe its your tires? Your setup changes sound like you took steps in the right direction....
