i recently switched to greens front and rear w/ the rcshox dual staged pistons. truck is much better than previous losi green fronts and silver rears. doesn't chassis slap on big jumps when landing flat. I ran on a super blown out loamy, sandy track and the truck was good. was good to great before the track got blown out. running 35wt losi oil in the front and 30wt losi oil in the rear. was good enough for a 2nd place finish and got me a trophy.

hopefully our other local track opens this week, as long as the dreaded "r" word doesn't wet the track, and I can try on a higher bite, smoother track. I did run on a local track sunday and the traction was good, even when the track was dry. truck was a little stiff, but the track is super small and tight. I think if I would have lowered the ride height, it would have been $.

lightened diff pins? have we finally jumped the shark with reducing rotating mass?

I currently run the equivalent of Tekno green front and a Tekno yellow in the rear. I like the extra off power steering and it lets me soak up bumps up front to stay planted and straight even if things get blown out. My wife has Tekno yellow all around on her truck, which makes it easier to drive and a little more predictable on the medium bite indoor clay we normally run on, but doesn't handle blown out tracks as well.

Yes, RC plane 3mm carbon tube rods cut to length for diff pins, they only last a couple laps but those are really fast laps!

Who is selling lightened diff pins :weird:

got a part number on the kyoshos? reason I ask is that looking at the ones on amain, the 8 x 1.4s I am seeing are drilled different?

KYOIFW405-148 I believe is the part, but I don't have it on the wall to look at right now.

hmm, wonder if this one has the angled holes versus the 1.3s that are straight ones?

assuming they are straight, could drill out the 1.3s.

Hoese37 05-08-2014 09:43 AM

White pistons are straight, black ones have the angled holes.

I ordered my truck and should be in next week. I am looking into putting the HW SCT-PRO-C2 combo in it thoughts? Also am looking for a new radio any suggestions. I am coming from a slash with a cc 3800 and am getting tired of being pushed around at the track hoping this will help me out.

Good choice or the C1 for the most power.

Some of the best advice I got was go 4700 . With the programmer , its just too fast and easy to make the power do what you want .

ChuckTee 05-09-2014 11:28 AM

The 4700 is by far my favorite of the hobbywings but I know guys that prefer the 4000 because they like to use boost or timing with their motors and that is really not an option with the 4700. If you are gonna run it straight go with the 4700
