I am running the side air guards so I have mine on the guard but I am looking around and don't know where else I can put it if I take off the guards. So right now that is preventing me from taking the guards off even just to see the difference in feel without them. I run the RX8g2

I never had good luck with the tekin switches but can't you just mount it to the side of the RX8's case between it and the motor?

That looks like the place to put it. I always worry about it coming free and getting tangled in the driveline. But just have to make sure and use something good to hold it like shoe goo.

Personally I don't use on/off switches they are just another point of failure so I cut them off and solder the wires together and heat shrink it. Not everyone does this but I knows my who do

So if I eliminate my switch and solder the wires and such as soon as I connect the battery the power kicks on and then the battery connection basically becomes the on/off switch?

yup. i like having an on/off switch but eventually my tekin switches started acting up and it was easier to just remove them.

the hobbywing switch has been great so far. it has a replaceable rubber cover over it to keep the dirt out. If yours ever fails you could replace it with one of those.

Thanks for the info, good old Hobbywing. Love their stuff.

i mount mine on the side of the esc closer to center of chassis against the mudguard, never had it turn off on a hard landing etc

I mount mine on the slanted part of the fan housing on the RX8. Keep it out of the way of rocks and such but easy to reach under the body. Never had an issue with it getting switched off during a race.

I drill a hole in the mudguard and screw the switch to it. If you look at the right side of the vehicle at the mudguard where the side bumper attach between the esc and end of motor there is spot that bumps up and it actually has 2 ribs on it that a tekin switch fits between perfectly. If u look at FQ6 picture u can see the bump up directly to the left of his esc. Just dremel a hole and use a screw and bolt.

Any one run a rx8 and tenshock sc411 combo in there truck? I was curious about gearing. I'm running a 15t pinion and it feels like way to much power!! I have turned my TX down to 40% and it's helped some. But I was hoping to hear from someone else who runs this combo for some input. I'm going to try a 16 tomorrow and see if that tames the punch some.

We need to know the motor kV to give you gearing help.

We need to know the kv of your motor before offering gearing advice.

I run that combo, I have the 4600kv and a RX8 gen1. I've tried both a 15 and 16t, and have been using the 16t with good success outdoors. It doesn't feel overpowered like you're describing, but it's pretty quick. I haven't changed the current limiter from stock and I'm running at about 115 after a 5 min qual.

I run the 4600 with a 16t trying a 17t this week. It's fast and that's how I want it. I ran a 15t and ran all the way down to 11t, all depends on your driving style and what you like or can handle. I like the set up a whole bunch. Don't think I have ever ran into the too much thing.

I am going to look into this one for sure. Thanks

Good to hear guys. Sorry for that bit of info I left out. It is a 4600kv. And I run on a large 1/8 scale track. I will be trying the 16 today. Wondering if I up my rear diff fluid to 5k if it will help with the rear end wanting to come around.
