It will end up costing as much as the xray metal diff gears . The driveshafts on the yok are around 2mm. xray is 3mm, so 4 driveshafts along with the diff and ring gears $$$

Xray driveshafts won't fit in the Yokomo outdrives. Slot is too small, mod needed

I heard a rumor that the 2015 spec kit will come with the metal diff gears stock. Maybe Hudy will hold off on releasing the gears as an incentive to buy the new car.

well at least if that's true we can get the gears once the kit and parts for it are released

Hehe. I think it was more for the 'optimised' chassis releases for on road tc ep, the back and forth on tall/short/tall again big bore shocks on the 1/10 nitro tc, and to an extent the xb9 and xb8 series where keeping up to date is more expensive.

Well, I finally shot my first set of ring and pinion gears in my xb4 after 2yrs of running, both the front and rears lol. The teeth were very worn which is to be expected from the amount of run time the car has had. I guess im very pleased with how well they've held up being plastic gears. Cheers.

Hey guys I just picked up one set of metal gears for the diffs. Should I run in the front or rear? Does it matter that one set is composite and other set is metal?

Metal or composite, check the sideplay and shim them a bit if they feel loose. A tight set of composites will last longer than a loose set of metal gears. Been there. If you measure all the various bits and pieces you will find that the dimensions of some of the parts vary. Original vs new version, etc etc. Shim that junk up.

question, i bought a kit xb4 4wd on 7-24-14 from amain, built the hole kit tried to put the servo in and the ears on the servo ripped off the servo. it seems like the servo mounts on the chassis is about 2mm to 1mm to wide for the servo. servo am using is xp ds1313. has anybody else experienced this problem. also i looked at the photos of the car online and it looks like i have the 2wd drive chassis is there a difference between the 4wd drive and the 2wd?
