ACER Bearings has their ceramics on sale with an additional 20 percent off. Great Bearings (the come aero oiled, thus not greased)

I believe with the extra 20 percent off ACER ceramic bearing kits for the XB4 for just under $70.

Does anyone know if Ty Tessman fully fills his XB4 diffs, thus the same as he did with his D413. Essentially on his D413 diffs he would fully fill the diffs.

It is not possible to run a diff completely full, there must be some air to compensate for fluid expansion when the fluid warms. If the diff is too full, it’ll come off the track feeling like someone magically changed it to a weight 2-3x thicker than it started.

Default Replica

Since it looks like Losi made a replica of the XB4 now does anyone know if any parts are interchangeable? They have a neat looking battery mount system and sway bars would be much cheaper if they are the same shape also. Seems like most tracks I race at always carry Associated and Losi parts do it would be nice to know if in a bind could any of these parts work.

I'm considering building a new XB4 but have a couple of questions. I'm an over 60 guy who doesn't race competitive anymore. My fun is just running practice sessions with other racers. Since I have a few other cars it's not the end of the world if I break a part and have to wait for a replacement to come by mail. My concern is not waiting for a part. I'm wondering if there are ever any parts that just are not available anywhere for long periods of time. And down the road do you guys think parts will remain available even when newer models come out? I know the safest bet is AE or TLR but what can I say I like top-notch quality and being a little bit different from the crowd

Your copy assumption is about as accurate as calling a Chevy a copy of a Toyota. Kyosho and Yokomo had this style design ages ago. Anyways, no parts swap.

I'm still running the 2016 version of this car and parts don't seem hard to find. That said, I rarely break anything anyways.

This seems to be a pretty much across-the-board experience from xray owners. I have been able to join the XB4 Facebook group but it doesn't want to let me join the XB2 group. I click where it says something like request membership and it never goes past that. Is it like getting into West Point where I need a senator to nominate me? I'm not much experienced with Facebook so maybe I'm doing something wrong. The XB4 group seems like a huge amount of communication and participation

Never broke a part on my 2019, but parts I wanted to acquire like composite diff gears and pinions were hard to find. Other than that, never broke a part. Very durable buggy.

On the other hand I did tend to go easy and not try to do the "Triples" etc. I was afraid if I broke something I would be out of commission. Price you pay for driving one vehicle at a time.

The Tekin servos are worth every penny.
