I've noticed a few xb4 "18" come up on eBay but my suspicious mind wonders why they don't have the box or instructions

How do I tell the difference between a 17 and 18?

Funny thing I saw the same it should be milled out where the motor is and the side guard that side should be too.
And all the chassis looks black
Where the milling is

looks like a conversion with the raw aluminum motor pocket. He does say "2018 Spec" in the description... I don't think he's trying to dupe anyone.

The XB4 in the eBay link is a 2016. You can tell by the front shock tower and the Xray logo etched on the chassis. Shock tower on the '17/'18 don't have the small bumps near the outer holes. The '17/'18 didn't have that logo on the chassis either.

I know some of the early kits that were released, came over without instructions, and the older graphic box.

Team drivers early kits usually come that way as well.. My XB8 18, came with the 17 wrap, no instructions, and the updated parts just added in the box. But it certainly was an 18 car.

Has anyone tried running a 16 or later version in 13.5 class with the motor mount in the further back set of holes? If so, what did you notice with handling? Interested in trying this on medium bite clay.

2016 xb4

Hey guys , maybe someone can help me out here .. I've been building the above buggy since 2016 .. Anyway i'm finally setting the body on there and I noticed the servo horn ( expert servo) scrapes the body. Anyone have an idea why theres a clearance problem?

Tks Jimmy

yes, i run the motor in the rear position on indoor clay and the car drives amazing. Its not cheap due to the price of the shafts but definitely worth it imo

I run my esc behind the motor which should have a very similar effect for free. And yes, handles great.
