Xray XB4 thread
Bummer. I'll have to wait until Xray or VRP make MIP/VRP style pistons.

HI All - Coming from 2wd. What's the routine maintenence cycle for 4wd buggies? Contemplating selling a SCT I'm bored with. Just picked up an Xb2 and may spring for an xb4. Also, wondering what a good used price is for a xb4 16. thanks all in advance for any pointers.

I change shock oil and diff fluids every 2 race days. Re grease cvds every 4. I don't worry too much about the shock oil getting too old since I'm always changing my setup so I usually change it at least once on race day.

Hey guys, got the car out today and it was awesome I absolutely love it. I am running on high bite prepped clay with slicks using 8k front and rear and the stock slipper. I had multiple issues when getting on the brakes hard the car will do a nose wheelie and i flipped over the front multiple times. Loosen the slipper for that maybe? My brake is turned down to 75 also. The car would also have a waggle coming out of the corners on power, and the back end would be kinda loose mid corner. Would heavier diff oils help?
How many washers go on top of the metal hubs to equal the stock plastic ones

For those running on loose dirt, are the ball diffs a must or do the gear diffs work good? Also assuming you running a center slipper not the diff?

I run on low grip packed dirt indoor. I have wanted to try the ball diffs but $140 to get them has kept me away. Also the gear diffs have worked fine for me so far.

I am looking for advice on tuning gear diffs. My track is medium grip clay. Enough grip that lay down chassis cars work well. Test drove my xb4 16 last night with new tires and the track was dusty. It was pushed on corner entry loose on way out of corners. Currently has 10k frt/slipper/10k rear. I have center different to run if needed. Any ideas on what to change? Definitely need to test on prepped track though. Is there a guide on how often tune the difference with different oil somewhere so I can read it. And one more question. 13.5 gearing using 78 spur on a 17-18 second/lap track?
Thanks. Loved building the car

Nope, set less brake. No track needs that much brake. Use -30 expo on brake as well to help. You may need to reduce rear droop as well.
My brake is turned down to 75 also.
Try 40.
