I believe the stock composite steering plate uses a 2mm conical shim.

I'm still trying to locate the correct parts to replace the barrel, pin and set screw as most part numbers point to the T2 touring car and am not sure if they are compatible.

On the track I have to say I did instantly notice a positive difference. The car was able to enter and exit corners much faster and landed jumps on power astonishingly well. It was like a new car to me. Although this was quickly crushed by losing parts and the shaft causing a DNF for the round.
In case any one wants to know the part number is XRA305251 for the replacement barrels. Comes with set screw. Its a T2 part number.

Can some one recommend a good pininion and servo arm I'm running a 6.5 on a smaller tight indoor track with gear diff with stock spur thanks .
20t pinion with 81t. Sworkz pinions are great qaulity. Racer's Edge aluminum servo horn is nice and perfect height. Protect or Ofna short servo horns are nice as well.

shorten the wheelbase with the 2mm shim. also make sure you have the shock on the inner hole of the front a arm.

I had the same problem and this might sound crazy but try +5mm of bump steer washers and the rear ackerman position on the steering rack. This made the car have alot more steering. Setup sheet I got this from: http://site.petitrc.com/setup/xray/s...irt2015080309/

yeah but that setup he is using the aluminum rack. so if you dont have on you would want only 1 or 2mm of bump steer shims. that would work out to be the same since the aluminum is smaller.

Default ECS Front Shafts??

I broke a front drive shaft tonight on my 14 XB4 and was curious if the new ECS front shafts would work with my 2014 model. If not what specifically is the issue/difference as the regular shafts are 81mm on the 14, 15 & 16 XB4's? I guess the spec R's might be an option as well, but thought I'd ask before making a costly mistake.

Thanks,

I'm having the same issue. Pushes while on the gas in the corners. I am running the sway bars. On carpet and turf.

I beleive they will but on't quote me. I never ran the 14 but if it uses the same front driveshaft then yes it will fit.

Try this:

- Go in in Center diff oil. try 200/300K
- Go up in Rear diff oil. I usally run 8K but you can match the front @ 6K
- Put a sway bar on the rear only
- lengthen the wheelbase by moving the rear hubs back
- run the back holes on the ackerman plate.

if that doesn't work I have a few other things you can try.

I went ahead and ordered them(preordered - out of stock everywhere) as I remember the SpecR ECS shafts have been around for a few years and are basically the same thing. I've been having good luck with the 14 and plan on holding off on a new kit while the current one works well on my tracks low-bite, hard-pack dirt. Really hope the Xray ECS shafts are more durable than the SpecR units that are half the cost....

Hello everyone. Thinking of getting a 2016 xb4. I will be running an indoor medium grip track. Would the center gear diff be a smart upgrade? Are there any other must have parts? Also can you use 12mm hexs on this car? Since I have some wheels from another car. Thanks for any and all help.
