Is it safe to assume all of the above is sarcasm?

They do hold up. I have them in my 2016 XB4 and have been racing it on very high bite astro and carpet 20K front and 10K rear. No issues whatsoever. I have something like 25 or 35 packs through it so far. I do have the metal gears and pins, but that is supposed to be more for inertia and feel landing off jumps.

Sounds good. I'll be interested to hear your feedback about the car. The 16 has been the best wheeler I've ever owned.

There is a huge difference in the way both these cars handle. I've owned both, and in fact most all wheeler except the zx6 and yz4. I am 100 % confident after a couple weeks comparing the two you'll realise how awesome the xb4 16 is. If you need setup help for high bit clay I have an awesome setup...

On super high grip stuff (carpet/dry astro) I prefer my XB4/2 with a 6.5 to anything else I have, it is very easy to drive fast and feels very "locked in"

So quick question...
When I land from jumps...particularly when I overshoot triples and land on the flat, My car bounces a lot and it's a 50/50 chance that I'll land on my wheels when it's all said and done. Can anyone make a setup suggestion? Here's more info on my setup:

Surface is short cut Astro-turf....med/high traction

60wt fr oil, 40wt rr oil, 1.7 x 2 pistons f+r, 4 dot front springs, 3 dot rear springs. Basically I kinda mimic the Coelho and Bayer astro-turf setups.

I have never tried the 1.7 pistons but i did have that issue with my buggy where either it was chassis slap and bounce or bounce and flip. i switched to the Avid 2+2 pistons and it helped a ton. check them out on avid's site. they also helped the car drive so much better.

You need 20 pinion and 19 pinion will not catch the spur gear.

hate to double guess you but i run a 20 tooth pinion on my xb4 and have since the 14spec. 20/81 with the 81 spur gear being the stock one. so 20 seems alittle off being he is getting a 75 tooth spur????

but then again I guess it depends on what size motor. I run the orion r10.1 / Orion 6.5t combo

It's going to be a give or take. With heavy oil with stiff springs and at 15mm ride height that's just going to happen. You need to focus on landing on the downsides of the jumps. That setup is a big advantage in the corners. You can drive a lot more aggressive and carry more corner speed. I would prefer a better handling car over one that jumps better IMO.

Hi Guys,

Need a favour - I race 4wd stock 17.5t in Australia its a reasonably popular class here. So weight is important. To compare the 4wd's on the market;

Could someone weigh there car - ideally as close to stock as possible with electronics and a shorty and body on.

Would be much appreciated? There is no prize for anyone who can post a reply the fastest. Thanks.

hi again..

I'm running 17.5 .... One of the guys told me he couldn't get a FDR of 5.5.. So he got a 69 Associated and bore hole out...

they didn't have the 75 then..He now says that I can use a 75/ 33 pinion .. I need to know can I get a 33 pinion to mesh properly.

My XB4'15 weighed in at 1645g, running the following electrics:

- Orion R10.1 ESC
- Trinity D4 17.5
- Savox 1251 Servo
- Futaba RX
- 40mm Fan on the motor
- Transponder

only thing that isnt stock is the Diff gears, ring and pinion i changed to Composite, but even at that weight on Low-Med grip clay it needs some added back into it unless you can get a setup to suit the conditions with a car as light as mine, in high grip it shouldnt be too bad

if the Ball diffs were used, it could possibly be under weight... not 100% sure

i also run the 75t spur, can confirm at 33 WILL fit, it just max's out the motor mount adjustment, but mesh's perfect. seems a 33 will be as far you could go with a 75 spur, it will give you a 5.68FDR, although i run 75/31 on our track here in Perth for a 6.04FDR
