Re-thinking my setup. I am building the 22sct. Was planning to build it mid-motor as many at the local track drive mid-motor (indoor, clay, high-bite). I will need the optional battery tray to fit a standard 2s, not ready to buy shorty packs.

Wondering if I would just be better starting out with rear motor. As my skills improve, change to mid-motor. As an inexperience driver, will mid or rear motor make much of a difference?

Hey Frank, one thing that I forgot to mention is that I never did switch to the 2.0 buggy axles. I am still running the stock axles.

Will going to the 2.0 axles on the truck (with no shim) have a similar effect as it did on the buggy when I went from running the shim to not running the shim?

actually let me rephrase that. Will it have as significant of an effect? I felt on the buggy this was a huge change.

Very similar. The geometry change is the same.

With the 22t arm setup are you guys running longer camber links for the extra width?

For whatever reason I'd rather pay the full original price of the 22SCT and get all the parts than buying it at the discounts price and adding all the additional parts. In reality it doesn't make any sense as the cost is really about the same.

Ok I'm an idiot. If I pick 2wd SCT I suppose I'll be getting the 22SCT and all the parts.
You should be able to pick up a used one fairly cheap, then add the other parts.
The truck is selling for what $210-$220 new + $132 in parts is about what we paid for ours when they came out.....and yours will handle better.....LOL

Can i use a aluminum 30 degree pivot with a 20 degree shim for 25 degrees. Or will that not work?

That will not work. The 20/25 shim is designed to keep the pivot at the same point. If you shim the 30 it will move the pivot down and mess up your roll centers.

Well, I did it. I just hacked up my old SCB cage and body, pulled out a dremel and went to work. I now have a 22 SCB!!!!!!!!!!!! I am downloading pics from my phone. I will cut up a nicer body later, just hacked up an older body I had. I still have to make the rear body mount (easy) and figure out the front mount (a little more difficult). It uses the XXX-SCB cage and rear cage and body and the panels.

Frank,

I run 17.5 blinky on an indoor track with low to medium traction. Track temps tend to be in the 30s (maybe 40s, if we're lucky) at this time of year.

Are there any changes you'd recommend to your 2014 set-up?

Thanks!

Here are some pics of my 22SCB.

I will use a simple body mount similar to an 8th buggy rear mount.

Not a big fan of this gap, but it would take a lot of work to remove it.

Good, I just ordered all of Franks stuff but really don't want to give up my nice old aluminum front end.
