Ok guys back on track (no pun intended), let's talk TLR 22SCT and about what we're looking forward to about it. I know there's some sticker shock, but let's get passed that now. As we all know, prices will come down a little and let's not forget, we're getting a truck that's capable of running in two different motor configurations which adds to the cost. Speaking of motor configurations, who's gonna try Mid-motor? I think it may work very well on indoor high-bite clay tracks.
I'm really looking forward to minimizing the number of tools I need to work on the truck. Between the 8ight, SCTE and XXX, I have a full set of MIP/Thorp drivers.

I do love my drivers ... but someday I'm only going to need 2 drivers and 2 hex drivers, and one 17mm wheel wrench.

And then I'm going to sell off my un-needed fancy tools and pay off my house!

I just noticed this. It looks like the rear bumper wings are removable, so you can run full rear bumper, or a minimal one. Pretty neat. You essentially get two bumpers to pick from so you can be sure to satisfy the most particular track officials.

Yea Frank points it out in the video. Many racers (me for instance) cut the outside parts off because they kill bodies. I really like this new design as when I do finally get one and build it I will simply build without the outter portion and it will look better than the hack job I did on my bumper.

Are you trying to say that your track(s) are requiring you to use multiple piece Beadlocks? Or are you trying to say that your local tracks are requiring Shortcourse rims on Shortcourse trucks ie. no 1/8th scale wheels and tires or "Dish" styled rims? Anyway you slice it, if your track doesn't allow for "Dish" style rims, simply don't use the inserts and choose to use the supplied Beadlock Rings instead. The actual wheels are 2.2/3.0 Shortcourse wheels and they will be approved for use at ANY track that I'm aware of. What tracks do you run at?
Or you glue thin clear lexan pieces in the back of the wheels between the webbing to effectively fill in all of the spaces / holes between spokes and you end up with the effectiveness of a dish wheel that looks like a normal short course wheel. I've seen it done...

I run 17.5 sc. And i was wondering if a aluminum chassis will be too heavy for a 17.5 motor?

FT SC10 - 2080g (4.59 lbs)
22SCT - Weight: 66 oz. (1870g) - 4.125 lbs

So even though it has an aluminum chassis, its lighter than the competition.

Hmmm. I hope it can put the power down better than the XXX SCT.

Stupid question, but does this new body come pre-trimmed (a la 22), or do we have to cut out all those vents ourselves?

If it comes pre-cut, then I'll never use a different body EVER again.
