Thank you. I haven't read through everything on the tekno site, but I will now, I didn't realize how in depth they got on there. Without having it on the table with a scale to wiegh each individual tires wieght, it actually doesn't seem feasible to try and calculate it, as the layout and distances from center all determine the distribution of each individual component.

Anyone ran this after running the DEX408... thoughts/comparisons...

I'm between these two buggies, leaning a bit more towards the EB48

They're made by Cow RC. Awesome magnetic pit mats, they make any build or maintenance much easier. Check them out at Cowrc.com, thdy have differnt sizes too.

They have pills for that now you know ...

But, as the vids show (the ones from Tekno that is), its not the size of the packaging, but how you drive it!

What about using some 90 degree bullet connectors with 2 x 2s packs? Maybe that would allow a different battery orientation.

I see you went with Traxxas connectors. I was going to do the same, have read that they can handle more amps than Deans. However, my LHS suggested deans. I typically have used deans or bullet connectors.

What are the advantages of going with Traxxas connectors? I would like to try them, as some of my Deans connectors "springs" have lost their tension and they will need to be replaced. Have you not seen this with Traxxas?
I have never had a TRX connector come unplugged on me like I have seen deans do. The TRX have a better connection and are easy to install and plug unplug.

Hey Everyone,

Started the build last night. Finished the diffs and the rear of the car before heading to bed. Just a quick note about something that I encountered when building the diffs:

When you push the outdrive through the diff case/crown gear/spur and then place the o-ring and washer, you may find it difficult if not impossible to push the small pin through the outdrive.

I ran into this with 4 of the 6 outdrives and the simple fix was to spin an Xacto knife blade with moderate force on each side of the hole in the outdrive. This allowed the pin to be freely pushed into those outdrives with tighter tolerances.

I hope this helps anyone who may encounter this same thing.

Thanks,
Kane

Got ya thanks. I decided to go with EC5 connectors. They seem to offer the best connection in terms of amp rating. According to the research I did, the only connector that is rated higher in amps is a 6.5mm bullet connector, which I prefer not to have due to the risk of reverse connecting the battery & the risk of having the contacts touch each other, even if they are protected by some type of heat wrap of other insulation.

We'll see it works out, I've never used EC5s.

Also going with high end 12awg for everything. Spoke to Tekin support on the phone and their suggestion is to use 12awg not 10awg, for their RX8/T8 system they had better results with 12awg. Checked the RX8 forum and confirmed that this is Tekin's recommendation.
