Tekno RC EB48 Thread
#1352
Sorry to bore everyone who already has a kit with news about shipping, but for those who ordered from RPP Hobby, the kits are in stock. If everything goes smoothly, our kits should ship out the day they get them in (like the previous email said).
Wait...I just said they got them in...that means my kit should ship out today

Couple questions while I wait to order mine
What pitch are the wheel nuts? Fine or coarse thread? I have a couple sets of KingHeadz for my D8.
What is the spacing on the wing holes? I have the Tekno wing mount for Losi/HB D8, and have a few wings that I would like to reuse.
Would the Tekno axles for the D8 work as spares? Have an extra set of those.
What are most of yall getting for spares? Set of arms, hubs, ????
Thanks, have to order a new esc first( killed 2 this weekend) and possibly a new motor(killed a Tekin).

Wing holes are closer together than d8
Axles are different and will not work
spares are on their website, seem pretty standard
And I have a mamba monster NIB (warranty replacement) for $130 shipped if you are interested

Almost Done with build, just working on electronics install and final touches. Very impressed with just about everything, noticed all kinds of trick design and function touches as I was building, very nice!
I also had an issue with cleaning up the moulding plastic on the pistons, didn't come out as clean as I wanted, my own fault. Also seemed like the shock caps need to be pretty snug to not leak past bladders.
Have to paint my body so I can drive it this weekend, can't wait, going to be a looooong work week.

Less than 5in at the widest point, or in your case less than 13cm. (12.5cm to be exact)

Long story short, your wing should fit without issue.

I have just about every Tekno part/kit available for my Losi buggies, E-truggy, and SCT-E, the best components out there IMHO, and I am so pumped about this car. I am waiting for an LHS to get it, but I want it NOW! My birthday is coming up in a couple weeks, and it just occurred to me that maybe I should just order a second kit to build and just put on the shelf to stare/drool at in my shop.............
Quick question, what is the optimal battery weight to achieve the best balance? I have Tekin buggy motors/RX8, should I be planning on my 1900kv/4s/5300mah setup, or will my 2650kv/3s/5400mah setup work well? I really like the handling of my current buggy with the lighter 3s.
Thanks, and keep 'em coming! Truggy and/or SC4x4 next, I will buy them both! Heck, I even wanted to figure a way to use your chassis on my nitro buggy!

According to this, if you're using a 340g motor you need a 505g pack to balance the car.

Not to be rude, but it's not all that hard to figure it out for yourself
. Just find the weight for your motor, servo, esc, receiver ect. and make sure its as close to the weight of your battery and brake servo(if your using one). If you want to get really in depth, also take into consideration, the motor mount, the slightly greater amount of chassis on the battery side and the fact that the weight of the battery is slightly further away from the center of the chassis than the motor. This way you can test every set-up you can think of on your own.
Personally, I go by what Tekno has in the description of the buggy: Tekin system(as you mentioned) and a battery 500-600g. If you don't feel like doing all of these calculations, I believe with the most seemingly unbalanced setup on the EB48, you'll probably end up being as balanced as all of the other guys on the track.
For example: I'm pretty sure Austin Blair(without changing anything else) has gone between the two pro-tek 4100 packs(438g) and the big 6400 brick(653g) without any issues.

oops, didn't read it was a tekno wing mount for d8...
I also read all the way through the addendum and saw where it mentioned tight on shock caps, went back through mine to check. Just need to paint the body and I am ready to roll!
