Default Losing an EB48 enthusiast

Hey guys, I wanted to report my thoughts after my first run with the EB48.2 (-the new diff housing). I am definitely a little disappointed in how the car drives. It certainly lacks being a planted car. I was driving on road with street tires. So it was set up for street the way it should be. For my likings its too nimble and not nearly planted enough! Even on road I was losing traction at low speed turns and on corners. I can at best say that I had only half the confidence in driving this car then my XB808E. I did a dead nose comparison between the two. Same tires, wheels, electronics and same running spot. It is night and day how much more planted and driveable the Xray is. The EB almost feels like a 10th scale and thats the whole problem, at least for me as I look to run a true 1/8 scale feeling car. So I can definitely see why a lot of guys say its pretty much a tight circuit car and I would agree as that is where it would shine. So I guess my point is it would be best to own another buggy thats more planted and doesnt always drive almost on the edge of breaking loose, like an Xray or Kyosho. I love Tekno and always will but its too nimble. Now the truggy might be a different story

So I have Protc3 former EB for sale if anyone wants a perfect condition tricked out EB. My email is [email protected]. I only ran the car for 10 minutes. Thats all I needed to know the car definitely isn't right for me.

Sct410 straps are shorter and designed for 2s packs. Direct fit on the eb48.

So after 10 minutes of driving the vehicle, and I am assuming you didn't try any setup changes in that time to see about getting it more planted you concluded its too nimble and can't be made to be more planted?

Honestly, I would suggest at least giving some setup changes a try first before getting rid of the vehicle, heck, ANY VEHICLE if you have only tried it for 10 minutes.

When I ran my Tekno EB48 V1 indoors big track with very slick conditions, extreme cold temperatures it was a real pain to drive. rear end was not confident at all. After playing with a few settings and finally in desperation going down to 2K diff fluid in the rear, it was planted, and this was with tires that were NOT the ideal ones for the track.

If I had the new 1.5+ block in the rear at the time I probably would have tried more toe.

Now, I am not saying what I did would be your solution, but there are great people here who may have advise that can help you. I would suggest in my opinion giving that a shot first before writing this vehicle or any other off that quickly.

Velcro makes a 2 sided strap in any length u can imagine. use it all the time. works great. should be able to find some at Lowes or Home Depot.

I believe that Sramos has one or is working on one for posting.

I have one that I posted for our high bite clay up in NE Ohio (ARCS Hobbies), but one difference is that I'm running a lighter 4s (only 13oz)

You are so right brother and your words and definitely wise. But I already received the car all tuned in and dialed toe, camber, oils and I adjusted ride height as needed for the surface. So with that being said, I was still very un impressed and highly doubt that anymore changes could make it night and day. The thing is the set up changes could go on all day, but the car platform and dynamics are what they are no matter what. This is why I wont drive a car that feels like a 10 scale- only on tight indoor track. But I only run on bigger outdoor tracks or street. I highly credit Tekno and they are HUGE for RC and I know the guys on here can offer so much help. Everyone is much appreciated. Without them, my rcing wouldnt exist. I gotta say the truggy looks to be a boat load of fun

Another key note for all cars, I have now noticed night and day what aluminum front and rear hubs do for the stability and turning for a car. Its night and day and thats part of the reason I am going back to the car I previously ran with the aluminum parts on it. I think the Tekno cars would highly benefit from aluminum hubs!
